Card Swap Anyone?

 Card Swap Anyone?
Brandy Jesperson

When I tell people what I do for a living they often say, “Oh. So you make cards all day?” Wow…that would be the life, wouldn’t it?

All of us at Paper Crafts stay very busy concepting issues, writing articles, and doing all of the business-y things that have to happen to produce a magazine. Don’t get me wrong, I love my job. But the fact of the matter is I don’t have as much design time as I’d like.

So when Miss P. Kelly invited all of us on the Paper Crafts team to be part of a card swap group, I was thrilled! Our group is comprised of Paper Crafts peeps, two Creating Keepsakes gals, and several friends of the Paper Crafts family. We get together once a month at someone’s home, swap cards, work on a fun project, and jibber jabber the night away.

Jennifer was kind enough to host last month. We swapped Thank You cards and created cutie pie Close To My Heart calendars.

Below is a sampling of a few of our creations. Not too shabby, eh?

Needless to say, I am loving my card group and the chance it gives me to satisfy my creative cravings. So the question I pose to you is: are you a swapper (of cards, that is J)? If not, I would highly recommend you become one. It’s super easy to start a group (if you have questions, just ask Kelly!), and a great way to share your designs with friends.

Okay, that’s it for me but make sure you check back tomorrow for another Freebie Friday!

Yours in card swapping gladness,

Brandy

  1. Cute cards! You all did a great job! I think my favorite is the “merci” one. I’m not as into cards although I do create them from time to time, but I think it would be fun to get a group together or be part of a group.

  2. I’m loving that “merci” card . . . the lime green really POPS, and there appears to be some sparkle! Nice! I do not swap cards, but we just started an ATC swap. First one done, next one is in the works. I had never made an ATC before. It was fun!

What a treasure to work with paper and can gather with fellow employees doing something you enjoy! I work at home so I greatly miss out on these types of gatherings BUT! that is why I LOVE this site. I hang out on the message board and share the good and bad in life with the community of ladies who gather there. Thanks to Papercrafts I swap on this site with amazing and fun people from all over the country. In the two years since I have been a daily visitor to this site I have met – face to face – with SEVENTEEN! fun and talented people I met on the Papercrafts message board. : )

Thank you for sharing this fun article and for the wonderful product you produce.

Totally jealous of that fun! Just getting together is great besides making cards! I used to belong to a group where we just sent each other cards each month and it was amazing to receive these goodies in the mail.

  7. Ooooohhhh…..such fabulous cards!! Yes, I am a swapper…..5 of us get together once a month to do a shoebox swap. It’s such a great time and opportunity for us all to enjoy each others company.
