Welcome to another Magazine Monday! Looks like everyone enjoyed our giftastic blog hop on Friday. We’ll be announcing the three lucky winners of the Cricut, Your Story and Yudu tomorrow, so make sure you check back with us! And don’t forget… 225 Cards & Gifts also hits newsstands tomorrow! Today is the last day you can preorder it and save 10%!
As many of you know, one of our own editors had a milestone birthday last week. Susan R. Opel turned the big 4-0 and celebrated by taking a road trip to beautiful San Francisco with her sister Beth. Even though Susan was out of the office on her actual birthday, she had a lot of fun surprises waiting for her when she returned on Wednesday.

Since Susan is a big fan of American Idol (dare I say obsessed?) and she recently joined a band as their lead singer, it was a no brainer when it came to deciding her birthday theme. Notice how Randy, Cara, Paula and Simon even made an appearance!
Stace, our art director extraordinaire, worked her birthday magic yet again. She found this look-alike Susan doll and trimmed her fiery red hair to match our birthday girl’s!

And the best part of this cake... it was key lime pie-flavored! Susan's favorite!
And our always fashion-conscious Susan even managed to match her outfit to her cake that day! How did she know?

In the words of Randy: "Yo, that cake was the bomb, dog!"
And Stace even made custom cake plates bearing Susan’s next hit record. Is she amazing or what?

Kelly Clarkson, eat your heart out! There's a new Idol in town!
Happy birthday, Susan! We hope you enjoyed your day in the spotlight!
Kelly
P.S. Speaking of Idol, I’m happy to announce the hugely popular Gallery Idol will be back for its third season! Look for more exciting details in early June!
P.P.S. It’s time to announce the three winners from Kim Kesti’s Fun with Food post. Here they are in no particular order:

and key lime cake – yummo!!!!
Happy belated Birthday!!!
Out of curiosity, y did the article say “kelly clarkson” eat your heart out”?
That seemed like it was maybe an insult 2 her in affiliation with he weight, but I can’t really tell
But I will say this. She does not have any weight issues at all, she is healthy
People can not expect celebrities to be sticks, its not healthy at all
So idk if that was an insult or not, I hope not but if it was just please try 2 understand that she is not a fake model or a pencil celebrity, she is a healthy young woman & she is great person, and she does not deserve any of the mess she gets from the media about her weight or “baby bump” that’s such a lie. She isn’t even dating right now, much less pregnant.
So maybe someone needs 2 do some research and possibly take down something they posted online that’s a deceptive lie, and a reference to mere impossibility, just take a look at her again and maybe research the cookie diet while ur at it.
Thanks
Neal
I think it was me that won one of the prizes. How exciting!!! Congrats to the other winners!
Blessings,
Christine
