Welcome to another Freebie Friday! Can you believe we’re already in May? Did you know that May 1 is commonly referred to as May Day? May Day falls approximately halfway between the spring equinox and summer solstice. It’s also synonymous with International Workers’ Day or Labour Day, which celebrates the social and economic achievements of the labour movement.
For me, May Day reminds me of dancing around the maypole in elementary school. Oh, how I loved the bright, shiny ribbons and the fun music my teacher would play as we danced around in circles. It literally made me feel like a fluttering butterfly. Speaking of butterflies… We spotlighted some beautiful butterfly projects in our March/April 2009 issue. And since they’re still so trendy, here’s another look:

I just love Angela Sgro’s Time Enough Card and Maren Benedict’s Forever Card. Did you know our art director Stace shot these on real flowers? No Photoshop here!
And since I’m always on the lookout for new sentiments, here’s some of my favorite butterfly quotes:
“The butterfly counts not months, but moments, and yet has time enough.” ~Rabinhranath Tagore
“Happiness can be as elusive as a fluttering butterfly, but as easily attainable as a crawling caterpillar. Put aside the net and let it happen.” ~Brian G. Jett
“What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the Master calls a butterfly.” ~Richard Bach
“Just living is not enough,” said the butterfly. “One must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.” ~Hans Christian Anderson
“Butterflies are not insects. They are self propelled flowers.” ~Robert A. Heinlein
Guess what I’m giving away today? That’s right! Butterflies! Since we’re right between spring and summer, leave a comment telling me your favorite spring/summer activity. Three random winners will win an assortment of butterfly product featured below. All comments must be received by midnight (MST) on Sunday, May 3. The winners will be announced on Monday’s blog.

Three lucky winners will take home some of this butterfly product!
Happy May Day!
Kelly
P.S. Make sure you check back here on Monday. We’re announcing the details of our May Gallery Challenge!

Living in San Diego, nothing can bet a walk on beach when the weather get nice. If my hubby can join me, it is even better!
One of my favorite things to do in spring and summer is to go every Saturday morning bright an early to the outdoot market is a little parking lot downtown, where all the local farmers and flower growers take all there home grown things for the local people to purchase. IT ‘s so fun to get there early when everything is it’s freshest and talk to the farmers themselves and get the very best things! I get olive oil there fresh backed bread, scrumptious produce, and herbs and fresh flowers. They have fresh eggs and sometimes cheese and honey. It’s a gloriously fun thing to do.
