Cath Edvalson
I’m coming up to my four-year anniversary as creative editor here at good ol’ Paper Crafts magazine and I’m amazed at how much things have changed in that amount of time.
One of the most obvious changes has been in our staff. I miss Stacy, Jennafer, Megan, Junko, Neko, and Marissa, but I love working with Brandy, Susan, Kelly, Matt, and Jennifer. Brenda and Stace have been here since before I arrived—and thank goodness for them! They are the keepers of our history and we turn to them often for continuity as we grow our brand.
Back in the day, we had columns such as Gifts from the Heart, Celebrations, and Paper Finishes; while now we have columns such as the Joy of Card Making, Moxie Fabs, Photo Finish, and Get Inspired–with new ones in the works for 2010. (Sshh…that’s a secret!)
But perhaps the biggest change I’ve seen in the four years since I started here is in the many ways you can access Paper Crafts magazine and the people who put it together.
Like this fun blog, in point of fact. Here you get to go behind-the-scenes, get important info, get to know our Paper Crafts Pros, win prizes, and participate in super fun challenges with the winning projects being posted for all to see.
Our other blog, Moxie Fab World, focuses on the trends in paper crafting. It’s a spot for inspiration, contests, Q&As with your favorite designers, and lots of chances to win fun prizes.
In addition, all of the editors and most of our Pros have their own personal blogs, so you can get to know what really makes us tick.
We’ve also got a group on Facebook. You can become a fan or join our group and receive updates and hot bits of news. I like this type of access because it’s an instantaneous reminder of the fun things we’ve got going on here at Paper Crafts. And of course, you can become a friend of all of us editors on Facebook, too—just look us up and ask!
We’ve even got a new, slick way to submit your projects to our calls. We’ve got a call out right now for our January/February 2010 issue, so why don’t you give it a try by clicking here. Talk about access—we publish brand spanking new designers in every issue, maybe one of them will be you!
You can enter our sweepstakes contests in every issue, download cool sentiments and patterns, check out our online bonus projects, and soon you’ll be able to upload your cards to our World Card Making Day web site. You can email your questions for our Pros here, you can give us feedback here, and you can comment today on your favorite way to access Paper Crafts magazine! Leave a comment by midnight MST on Wednesday, May 20 and I’ll select one random winner to receive an Easy Stamp Press from Fiskars along with their new clear stamp set called Tartan ‘n Time.

Will you be the lucky one to take this home?
Maybe, like me, your favorite way to access Paper Crafts is by finding it in your mailbox and flipping through its pages. Whatever your preference, we sure are glad you’ve found us, for without you it just wouldn’t be the same.
Yours in celebrating four fun-filled years,
~Cath

I’m a big fan of both Paper Crafts blogs, but there is nothing like getting that new issue in my hot little hands!
I do love the blog, website and magazine. It helps me get inspired fully! So much fun!
I love this blog–so many new ideas and lots of chatting with the pro’s. Thanks for keeping it so up to date.
I love the old fashion way – magazines. But I also check your blogs every single day
Thanks!
Congratulations on your 4 years with PaperCrafts! I check the websites daily — but like you, I truly enjoy flipping the pages of the “paper” magazine and ooh and ahh’ing at every picture. Yes, it is old-fashioned but it works for me. Can’t wait for the next issue to arrive! Marta
Happy 4 years

I check in with y’all everyday! But, like so many others, I love having the actual mag in my hands
Thanx so much for all your hard work!
wow, I didn’t know i could find current calls on the website! So cool! i love those stamps! Way lovely.
My favorite way is definitely flipping through the magazine as soon as it arrives but I am also a big fan of your blog & easy access to web features.
I am loving the new websites PaperCrafts has and also love the actual stamping magazine that comes in the mail. Just can’t get enough
)
I love the blog! And I love reading other blogs or websites that you mention. If you mention it, it must worth reading! Now I have to go to Facebook and become a friend! Thanks for everything you do!
Congrats on 4 years and I’m thrilled that many of my copies of the magazine are a little dog-eared from all the views and CASED cards I’ve created using the samples and ideas you’ve so gratiously shared. I also appreciate all the “extra online bonuses” you share too. Thanks for being one of the best magazines for cardmakers!
I have to say, why I love checking out the Blogs & Website, I still can’t wait to get my hands on the actual magazines. There’s just something about flipping through the pages & sticky posties on my favorites that just can’t be replaced.
I love all the different ways to get wonderful info from Paper Crafts! You guys are amazing!
While it’s nice to be able to access everything online, I like to be able to hold the magazine in my hands, dog ear ideas, and come back for second looks so easily. Plus, I like to file my favs in a 3 ring binder for future design reference.
Congrats on the anniversary. I love the magazine, I really do, but what I’m really loving about the blogs is the way they introduce me to new designers and ideas every week. I can just click on and then click right to them. So thanks for all the ways you’re keeping us connected. And I’d love to win that Tartan set – we’ve got Scots blood in the family, and the stamp would be perfect for some LO’s.

I love to get my Paper Crafts magazine in the mail. It’s like a special gift in my mail box! But I also love to check out all the blogs for great inspiration too. Congrats on your 4 year anniversary!!
My favorite way is in the mail. I’m a “hands on” kind of gal and I love to look at every issue over and over again. I even have a library of past issues.
Congrats on 4 years. I get my daily dose of Paper Crafting Magazine right here on the blog. Thanks for making it so easy to access the tons of info on the mag, and thanks for the chance to win.
I remember the first issue I got was the Christmas one back in 2005. And ever since I have been a subscribers. That is favorite way to access Paper Crafts. Next would be the blog and facebook. This is my favorite crafts magazine. Keep on doing your amazing work. Thanks!
i read the blog mostly, and i look at the mag online. i would love to subscribe, but we had to cancel all subscriptions and i dontthink i need to start back up.
I’m new to this blog and have not been able to get my hands on this magazine. I became disabled 2+ years ago, which that is why I stated scrapbooking. Any way I’ve not worked since my neck surgery that had gone wrong. I’m broke due to not being able to do any work and the way I get inspiration is to read blogs. Hope someday I can get my hands on this magazine it sure does appear to be a great one.
I just love how the magazine has evolved over the years. You just keep getting better and better all the times. I think you are very good at seeing where the trends are leading and showing us the path. Congrats on four wonderful years.
xoxo, Christine
My favorite way to access Paper Crafts truly is through the magazine. Although I receive posts from the Paper Crafts and Moxie Fab World blogs in my feed reader, I still love curling up with the magazine as soon as I can after it arrives in my mail! Happy Anniversary, Cath!
Blogging has really taken the place of magazines for me. Happy Anniversary!
I love all the fun places to get my PC fix… Love you guys!
Papercrafts is my fav crafting magazine–I’m more of a cardmaker than anything else, and PC inspires me! Keep up the good work!
I’ve been a follower of PaperCrafts for years. I first found the site through the swap board, and then ventured to the message board. When the site changed, I was so sad to see it go. I’ve missed all of my friends from the site but have kept in touch with a few!
I love the magazine and the ideas each artist brings to the table. Thank you for such a great mag!

I like the good old fashion magazine in my hand. Paper Crafts is the only magazine that I get by subscription. I love opening my mailbox and seeing it in there. I’m slowly trying to get into the blog thing.
A good tangible issue that I can put my hands on and sink my eyes into is the best by far, although Moxy Fab is my second fav, I simply can’t live without the Paper Crafts Blogs. They are a daily treat!
Congrats on 4 years. I love the blog and the Magazine. I am always excited when it comes in the mail.
Thanks for a chance at a prize too!
Internet access to things like blogs is kind of crazy. The whole reinforcement of instant gratification is unbelievable. My internet went down a couple of weeks ago and I just didn’t know what to do with myself. It made me rather anxious!!! Other than that, I love it!
I quite like the blogs…
I like the blogs and the paper issue. Congrats on 4 years. Jenny
I love the blogs! It’s one of the first things I read every morning.
I found you through Moxie Fab World, which I found from Nicole’s blog on PTI (my favorite stamp co in the world!). I go to the Connection from Moxie Fab World, but it would be great to get e-mail updates. I also subscribe to Paper Crafts, which is WONDERFUL!!
Oh wow…my favorite way??? I love them all but I guess if you force me I would have to say the cold, hard magazine! Can’t beat that in your hand!
I read the blogs faithfully and pick up the mag when I can.. Love it.. so many bright and fresh ideas.. LOVE IT! AND BTW, I recvd my free new, CRICUT EXPRESSION, THANK YOU PAPERCRAFTS AND PROVOCRAFT!
I read the blogs daily and purchase the magazines too! Thanks for providing so much inspiration!

I do love visiting this blog & Moxie Fab, but I gotta say, my favorite way is still getting that magazine in my hot little hands!
I have been subscribing to the magazine for as long as I can remember. I love it and I love looking through all the pages over and over again!!!

Nothing beats the good old paper copy, but I do love the online access via this blog.
