As I look out my window, I am inspired by all the colors of spring. I currently have a yard full of bright pink tulips and a flower bed with cushions of purple phlox. It seems that after a cold and frozen winter, the blue sky, green grass and vibrant flowers make me happy and bring a smile to my face.
Another thing that inspires me and makes me smile is ribbon! As I look around my paper crafting room, I’m inspired by all the bright colors and patterns of ribbon. I have color coordinated jars filled with ribbon wrapped around clothespins and large jars filled with my ribbon scraps.

This great organizational idea is from my fellow PC Pro Wendy Johnson – thanks Wendy!
I decided I wanted to have more of my ribbon where I can see it, so I filled up a tiered wire basket with all my tiny spools. It is so fun to easily see all my ribbon and to have it so close at hand.

Now I have my very own ribbon display in my craft room! Anyone want to go shopping?
I decided to dump out my jar of ribbon scraps and make a quick card. I simply adhered pieces of ribbon across the front of a cardstock base. I love how the ribbon scraps made a bright and happy background. This same technique would work well with strips of patterned paper and would be a great way to use up scraps.

Talk about a quick and easy card!
So look around you and find something that inspires you – whether it be flowers, bright colors or my favorite… ribbon! Speaking of ribbon, I just happen to be giving away some today!

Four lucky winners will each win these four ribbon cards from Cosmo Cricket!
Leave a comment telling me your favorite ways to use ribbon in your paper crafting. All comments must be received by midnight on Thursday, May 14. The winners will be announced on Friday’s blog.
Happy paper crafting!
Alisa

Probably 60% of my cards have a ribbon of some kind on them. I organize mine by color in floss boxes unless they are on spools and then they are housed (by color) in transparent plastic boxes. Easy to use and easy to find.
I love using ribbon to make pretty bows for my cards.

I mainly use ribbon on my cards. I love it and have tons of it!
I love ribbon!! I mostly use it for frames on cards, or for when I need a little extra something, such as a stripe down one side of my card.
My favorite way of using ribbon definitely reflects my philosophy in life. I love ribbon for both function and form. I created a toolbox caddy for my pens and gems, tape and cleaner. Yes, I added bows and accents of ribbon here and there. But I love the fact that the handle is also made of ribbon. It is soft, unobtrusive and cute.
I actually find ribbon challenging at times. I think it has more to do with how to attach it than the actual ribbon. My favourite way to adhere it to my layouts is to staple it.
OMG i LOVE that ribbon storage idea! i have all my loose ribbon in a bucket, and most of it is “scrap” (imo – nothing longer than 1 ft), but some of it is a yard (give or take). so this is an awesome idea, that i am gonna get started on as soon as im done here! i do have some unused clothes pins in my stash somewhere. thanks so much!
oh, so my favorite ways to use ribbon is to make bows, and tie knots. they look good on tags, as flower centers, or even by themselves!
Bows, and ties. A really easy way to dress up a page and add a little dimension.
My favorite way to use ribbon is on cards. But I also love spiffing a package up with very pretty ribbon. People appreciate the special touch.
I used to shy away from ribbon since my bows always came out strangled and crooked, lol!
… but lately it’s become a bit of an addiction – using knots!!! I’m using it on everything now!!!
oooh-la-la! What gorgeous ribbon!! I love to use ribbon as a ‘tab’ hanging off the end of my card, or on the end of a panel…it adds such a nice dimensional quality and texture to the project!
I use ribbon on every page for added texture and dimension.
I don’t think I’ve ever made a card without ribbon somewhere. I love the special touch that ribbon gives. I especially like taking a stack of notecards and wrapping them with a wide satin ribbon to give as a gift. A bit of ribbon is sometimes all the wrapping you need.
I am mostly a card maker, so I usually wrap them around my cards with or without a bow or two.
I love ribbons because they give the work a handmade look!
thank you for the chance to win this great collection!
I love using ribbon for tags. I would mix and match a few ribbons and attach it to the tag. It make the tag look important :> I also love using for borders and make flower and bow with them. So many fun ways to use ribbon.
Oh! Ribbon is my favourite embellishment! I love to use it in very different ways! Especially I love to make bows!
I use ribbons in many different ways, I use it for making a frame around my photos, creating flowers, borders and others. One can never have too much ribbons.
Hmmm is there a wrong way to use ribbon on a card?? I THINK NOT my Friend!
I have to have a piece of ribbon somewhere on my card. It just feels naked without some ribbon to add that extra special touch!
I LOVE ribbon. And it usually makes an appearance somewhere on my cards. Lately, I love using wide satin ribbon and tying it in a gorgeous bow around my card.
No card is complete without the texture and beauty of a bit of ribbon, usually wrapped around the card and tied in a classic square knot.
my favorite way to add ribbon to a layout is to either put knots in it somewheres…or give it ruffles for a distinct look
Who doesn’t LOVE ribbon? I’ve made cards similar to yours that are almost all ribbon, I can’t throw any ribbon away, I’m always thinking I can put that around some chipboard or under a button. So now I have a scrap ribbon box ! That CC ribbon look fabulous! Thanks for the chance to win.
Cute card! I love ribbon, as evidenced by the underbed box that stores my gift wrap ribbon. A lot of that has moved over to my scrap supply, lol.
Sadly, it is an addiction……..but it’s better than other vices!

I love ribbon also. I use it for bows, borders, and flowers.
Wow! Do you actually have enough time to read ALL of these comments? They are great!!
I absolutely love the clothespin/ribbon idea!! I actually made two boxes for all of my ribbons – putting grommets down along both sides in staggered rows… it works GREAT and you don’t even have to have them on spools inside! Just pull them out as you want them! Once I got the idea figured out, I made one for a girlfriend (using the Crop-o-dile) and it was even easier!! Cute box… colorful grommets…and lots of ribbon!!
I love using grommets and ribbons on cards; especially organza ribbon – it is so soft and adds such a nice touch!
Ribbons are essential!!
Kara =^..^=
What a great card. I love ribbon and you will see it on most every card that I make. It is that one embellishment that just gives your project that final touch!!
xoxo, Christine
I just love the look of your tiered baskets full of ribbon…what a happy addition to your stamp room!
My favorite way to use ribbon is just to tie it in a big fluffy bow…
but I do like learning different ways to use it. I will have to try your scrappy card idea
I like to use ribbon to lead the eye on scrapbook layouts.
I enjoy using ribbon in all of my scrapbooking, it just adds a little flair to any page!
USE my ribbon???? I am a ribbon hoarder. I couldn’t possibly USE my ribbon. I do love looking at it, though! I recently met with my stamping buddies and my card project to share had no ribbon on it. One of my buddies sent me home (only next door) to get ribbon so we could add it to the project. I have to admit it made such a difference. imustnothoard imustnothoard imustnothoard…
They’re gorgeous!!! I love Cosmo Cricket and I love ribbon! I love to use it on cards – just tie a lovely bow and it’s the perfect accent
Thanks for this chance to win!
Ribbon!
I love ribbon! This is a perfect give-away for a ribbon lover such as I. I love to wrap my cards with the satiny stuff and end it with a bow. So I could certainly use some new designer edgings from Cosmo Cricut. The scallops are yummy to my eyes.
I like to us ribbon on tags or to accent an oversized letter on a card.
I use ribbon on almost every card I make! Not too creative – just tied in a knot or bow, but I think it really adds a nice finishing touch!
I like to use ribbon on my cards to hide the seam between a DP and the cardbase….kind of like a chair rail on a wall between the wall paper and the painted part of the wall! I am also addicted to ribbon, so I would definitely LOVE to be a part of this giveaway! (the winner part would be nice

I love ribbon. I like to use if for borders, a small bow once in awhile. I like the idea shown on your post to use bits of ribbon as a background. I must try that one. Thanks for the chance to win, just like paper, you can never have enough ribbon either. Jenny
I love using ribbon on cards.
Ribbon has so many uses! I love to use it the old-fashioned way: tied in a bow to embellish a card. But I’ve also used it to “sew” a button down on a card, hold a dangling charm, and create a frame for an image.
Hmmm….is there a WRONG way to use ribbon?? Ribbon is an endless tool in all of the crafting world!! So no my good friends…..there is no wrong way. LOL
Wow, what can I say, I just love ribbon, I will use it any way I can. I love the way it accents a card and makes it pop.
I love to use ribbon to break up a pattern and solid paper on a card, to frame a picture, and to bring attention to a special element. Ribbons are like paper, you never have enough colors. I also like to weave ribbon in and out of lattice work on a card.
I tend to use ribbon to break up the space on a card. And I just got a ribbon threader punch that is fun to use. Thanks for the chance to win!
Wow! You are all so inspiring and talented!
Definitely the colors inspire me. I love when all the spring time scrapbook products are released.
I love ribbons on my cards. I usually make bows on the cards!
Not that creative, use ribbon in the conventional way as bows and embellishment.
