Let the countdown begin – that’s how long we have until the fun and celebration of World Card Making Day is here for 2009! That’s right, mark your calendars for Saturday, October 3rd and start building your plans now.
No idea where to start? Try the World Card Making Day web site. We’ve got plenty of ideas for celebrating in style, plus the 2008 community gallery. We’ll be adding card projects from our product partners (with photos, instructions and supply lists!) in the coming weeks, and invite you to help build the 2009 gallery by uploading your own cards as you make them. We’ll also be launching a blog hop later this summer.
And, as we do every year, we’ll be sponsoring the 2009 World Card Making Day Card Contest. This year’s prize package is worth over $185, and we’ll be awarding four winners in each of five categories. Keep your eye on the web site for more information.
So hop on over and get started today! If you’re already a member of our Scrap and Paper Corner community, you can can login with the same username and password as your Scrap and Paper Corner profile. Otherwise, you’ll need to set yourself up as a new user.
Then, feel free to use the World Card Making Day logo anywhere you’d like – your blog, your online profile, emails, or anywhere else you can spread the word and create yet another paper crafting connection through card making.
Finally, to get you into your crafty space to start making cards, here’s a chance to win a great big boost of inspiration.
For five lucky winners, I’ve got hot-off-the-presses copies of Card Creations, Vol. 7, plus a whole bunch of cheery chipboard accents in a rainbow of colors from GCD Studios.

Leave a comment by this Sunday, June 21 at midnight MDT and let me know how World Card Making Day fits into your life – do you use it to get your paper crafting space organized? Or is it your kick-off to making your holiday cards? Is it a great excuse to get your paper crafting peeps together for some creative fun?
However you do it, just unite and celebrate the connection and creativity that is the heart of card making.
Jennifer

Last year I was in CA for a wedding of my dear friend, but this year I plan to have a small group of girls over for non stop card making! WOO HOO!
I use World Card Making Day as a personal crafting day. I get the hubs to take charge of our little one and I play ALL DAY! You have to love that!
This will be my first time participating in World Card Making Day!! I plan to lock myself in my craft room and CREATE, CREATE, CREATE!!!!

I like to do on-line crops for WMCD! FUN Stuff!
I will probably use WCMD to make birthday cards so I will have a supply already on hand for every birthday on the list.
I’m new to cardmaking so I don’t usually do anything for WCMD but my fave lss always has something happening!
I have never participated in World Card Making Day, but I am really excited to be involved this year! I would love to find some more crafty friends and make some great cards!
Last year was the first World Cardmaking Day I took part in & I had a blast visiting the MANY websites that participated. My favorite memory is (of course) the fabulous PTI stamp set I WON, Wise Owl & Wise Owl Bellies from Alli Miles!!!
It was truly a fun day and I’m looking forward to it again this year!!!

I’m trying to get some friends together to make cards…we’ll see how it works out.
For me it’s a day to take out time to relax and enjoy my favorite hobby hopefully with others!
I am planning a card crop for that day. I am excited. This will be my first. I have the place and I am already telling people to come. I will use you magazines to inspire them. Thank you
I think I should just mark that day off my calendar now so I can have fun all day. Playing with paper is my therapy and hopefully it always brings a smile to anyone I send a card to.
Let the countdown begin.

Thanks for the giveaway! I look forward to seeing some fun inspirational card making ideas on World Card Making Day.
My father passed when I was 12 years old and the only thing I remember is when he told me my eyes were bigger than my stomache.
I love world card making day!! I find sooooo much inspiration, and yes, I do use it to get a whole lot of my stock done!
I will add this to my calendar and make sure to get together with my friends and make some cards!

I’m going to try to get together with my mom, who got me into card making, to celebrate World Card Making Day by having a card fest!
If I’m not working that day, I’ll get together with a friend to craft up some cards. What a good excuse to do so!
well it was a good day for me to move off the couch and get those cards done for all the teachers in school (our school ends june 26). and i have finished them all 20 in total (had to make some for my friend since she is in school and has no time for nothing lol).
I finally came over here to check out the blog and I love it! I get the magazine at the store almost every issue, and I just never came over to the blog. As for WCMD, I love using it as inspiration to start off my holiday cards, and I admit it, I love the discounts from all the Stamping/Scrapping stores! LOL!
I always tidy my work space, and sort out the oddments to use up
I am getting together with my pals for some scrap time!
I’ve never participated in WCM Day before, so I’m really excited about this one! I have lots of plans–to lead a cardmaking / scrapbooking get-together with a friend for ladies from church, to move into my new studio (formerly, the garage), or to just sit and stamp all day long. Wonder which one I’ll be doing? Maybe all three! Yay, World Card Making Day!
World Card Making Day is the perfect time for getting together with friends to make cool cards, so, of course, that also calls for organizing the scrap room!!
This is a great day to spend with friends and just be creative!
