Are you enjoying Card Creations 7 Week? I sure am. If you missed my fun “Q & A” with Cath yesterday, make sure you head over to Moxie Fab World to read up on why I love clean and graphic cards. There’s also several other card styles mentioned (plus, a really cool giveaway!), so definitely check it out!
It was a pleasure to contribute to Card Creations, Volume 7; it’s seriously my favorite “special” of the year! Maybe it’s the fact that all the reasons why we make cards are represented so beautifully. Sometimes it’s for a special holiday and other times it’s just to celebrate friendship, but whatever the occasion, it’s all right here.

Two cards that came together really easily for me are my “Apron Strings” (it made the cover!) and “Kitchen, Stove, & Mom” cards. Mother’s Day is such a special day, even more so as I’ve had kids of my own.
Since I’m kind of a “plain cardstock” type of gal, I pulled out some vintage-inspired colors for both of these cards. For my “Apron Strings” card, I printed my sentiment on solid-colored cardstock and adhered it to my card base. Then, I added some fun embellishments. The fabric apron was fun to stitch up and became the focal point of this card.

For my “Kitchen, Stove, & Mom” card, I used tiny scissors and a craft knife to make three old fashioned utensils. These “served” me well in highlighting the cooking theme of this card.

I want to share one more card from this fabulous issue. (I know, I can’t stand making you wait.) This Valentine’s Day card would be quite appropriate for anyone you love. It’s simple, direct and would be really easy to reproduce. Once again, plain cardstock for the card base, then I added four cardstock stickers from BasicGrey’s Bittersweet collection to another matted piece of cardstock. It was so quick and easy, but quite stunning (if I do say so myself!).

I love to make birthday cards. They can be so bright and fun no matter what the age of the receiver.
Well, I just made two of my first grad cards ever and they were amazingly fun and creative. i loved looking for the perfect send-you-out-into-the-world-with-great-advice kinda quotes for each recipient and letting it dictate the overall design. BUT, i’m really looking forward to making christmas cards this year. it’ll be the first year that i plan to make everyone i know an individual handmade card. and i can’t wait!
I love making general cards and often will make them up with out a greeting on it so I can adpapt ti to the occasion when needed.

I’d say that Christmastime is my favorite occasion for making cards, but after the 70th card, even though I like the design I’ve created, it gets OLD. So…I find that birthday cards are the most fun, because I like to tailor the card to the recipient, and I know they’ll appreciate the sentiment on their own special day!
I love to make birthday cards, valentines day is a close second!
I’d say it’s a tie between birthdays and Christmas. Christmas prints just really appeal to me, and I love birthdays as an excuse to use cupcake images!
Count me in – I love all things basicgrey!
I love birthdays and Christmas. Cute combo with the pinks and browns. BasicGrey rocks!
My favorite time to make cards is plain old note cards..no pressre at all anything goes!!
I love making cards to just say hello to someone. They’re fun and can be almost any theme. Plus, who doesn’t love to receive a card just because?

so beautiful cards. I love making birthday and christmas cards!!!
oh that apron card is PRICELESS!
I enjoy thank you cards the best – I can usually be “free” with my products and don’t have to find a theme so that is the best part – and I send at least 2 thank you’s out each week – I thank people for everything! lol
My favorite card making occasion I think would be Valentine’s Day! I love to make soft, pretty, girly cards – just right for Valentine’s Day!
Halloween is my absolute favourite occasion for card making because it’s a time when you can really play and experiment freely and anything goes! No one expects a Halloween card to be perfect.
It used to be that Christmas cards were my fave, but I seem to be making a lot of thank you’s lately!!!
i love making birthday cards.
I love to make ‘hello’ cards. Cards that have other purpose than to just brighten someone’s day.
i love your cards and the clean style that you have.
i usualy make cards for “no ocasion” like just a note, hello etc since most of my cards go to friends that i swap with handmade items and they appriciate the cards.
I must say the yearly holiday card! I love trying to figure out the location for the family photo! and then the design of the card!
My favorite card making occasion would be birthdays.
Today, b/c I just finished making some teacher cards that I am thrilled with, I am going to say teacher thank-you’s are my fave. Otherwise, my faves are whatever papers or embellies that I love and want to create with. My least fave are for men as I really get “stuck” as what to do….
i just love to make thinking of you cards just to brighten someones day
