Hip, Hip Hooray…we’re off to C.H.A.! Cath and Susan are, right this very minute, roaming the floor of the Craft & Hobby Association Summer Show in Orlando – checking out the goods and bringing back a full report on all the delicious new products being released for fall and winter. Start drooling now…we’re here to get you in the spirit!
And I want to get you in the spirit of our September/October issue (that goes on sale TODAY!), but first I want to touch on one little bit of housekeeping. Some of you may have heard that CK Media (parent company of Paper Crafts magazine) was sold. The dust has settled, our name was changed to Creative Crafts Group, and we’re now an affiliate of New Track Media. Other than losing our beloved Art Director in the shuffle (more on that in a few days), we’re still here every day, putting together this magazine that we all love so very much.
So, right on schedule, here’s our September/October issue, packed full of fun for Halloween and sweater weather (and I hope you didn’t miss Cath’s Moxie Fab sneak peek last Friday!).
There’s something extra special fun about this issue, too – a You’ve Been BOOed sign that was custom-illustrated by our Lone Design Man Matt Anderson. I had so much fun BOOing people around the office last year that I asked Matt to help us share the fun with you in our own Paper Crafts way this year.

Share a little BOO! with your neighbors or co-workers this Halloween!
Use it as is or let the little artists in your life put color in the pumpkins and spook in the skeleton. You can download the pdf HERE. Have fun, and spread the BOO! spirit around your neighborhood or office this year. Tell ‘em Jennifer sent you. Hee Hee!
So tell me: what kind of fun do you scare up for Halloween? Have you ever gone BOOing? Do you make cards? Paper-crafted treats for a classroom or church group? Leave me a comment by midnight MDT on Friday, July 31 and I’ll pick two random winners of both of these spooktacular collections from My Mind’s Eye:

Sharing a little BOO! with you,
Jennifer

I make mini cards for office friends. My 2 boys won’t let me make cutesy, crafty treats for their classmates. They just want to hand out the “goods” , no embellishments, such BOYS!!
My hubby & I don’t have any kids, and our house is way out in the country where we don’t get trick or treaters. So, we always watch some old black and white horror movies like Dracula or Frankenstein and have a special Halloween treat!
we love to carve a pumpkin, make a scarecrow and hang pumpkin/skelton lights. Then dress up and go treat or treating.
My little one loves Halloween. I dress her up to do a little trick-or-treating. No cardmaking here for the holiday though.
Hi I do cards for my grandchildren and decorate a bag and put treats inside they look forward to it every year and i love doing it i also send cards to my friends kids who live out of town at hallowe’en with money in card of course to buy a treat
I love making Halloween cards because no one expects to receive one! They are always pleasantly surprised!
When my kids were younger I sent things to their classrooms. Now I make some cards and paper crafts and send care packages to their colleges.
At almost 40 with no kids, I don’t really celebrate halloween anymore. But once when I was in college, a bunch of us girls from my dorm got all dressed up in costumes and went trick-or-treating. There were a few people who didn’t think it was funny, but most of them did and were glad to give candy to college kids with a sense of fun.
We do nothing really! We just trick or treat!
I have just started going trick or treating with my 4yr old niece & 2yr old nephew…I want to start to scrap their halloween pics & some of my old pics from childhood too.
That paper is just delicious!! Halloween is my favorite holiday – I just love everything about it! Our neighborhood “boos”, and I make cards for friends and coworkers. There are some fab projects and cards in this months magazine that I’m looking forward to recreating.
We’ve done booing before especially when the kids were smaller…Parties and Halloween parade for School…Trunk or Treat at church…And of course trick or treating on Halloween night.
Every Halloween we turn our 100 year old victorian home into the ultimate haunted house! We make tons of handmade decorations that takes weeks to finish, and then invite all of our kid’s friends over for a big party filled with tons of games, prizes, spooky music & stories and of course TONS of candy! I get alot of ideas from Paper Crafts Mag to send the awesome invites out. Love it! Thanks for the inspiration!
I love Halloween not just because you get to dress up and eat loads of candy but because it is also my sisters birthday. When we were growing up it was some much fun, our mom would always throw a big costume party and then we would all go out Tricker Treating.
I’ve never made anything cool for Halloween, but growing up my Mom always made little treat bags for the neighborhood kids. I think she still does!
I go trick or treating every year even though I am way pas the age now. It’s just fun to dress up and go to some friends’ place to get some sweets.
I used to be really into Halloween. Decorating our front yard to look like a grave, making graveyard cupcakes, popcorn balls with gummy worms coming out, chocolate spider webs and spiders, and bone cookies. I also used to make cute little coffin treat boxes with mummies on them and candy and pass them out at work. But I think this year I will try the Boo plan……it sounds like a lot of fun and will be interesting to see who particpates at work. Thanks for the great idea!
Thanks for the poem, I have always wanted to do that. I love the paper collections. Halloween is always so much fun!
Loving the newest issue! Can’t wait to try the glitter effect.
For Halloween we go to the local pumpkin patch and take sweet pictures. Last year our little girl, who was 23 months at the time, was a peacock, so our favorite picture was at the Louisville Zoo’s Largest Halloween party. Our little peacock was chasing the real peacock – too cute!
we used to do things for scouting when my sons were in cub scouts and we have big blow out halloween parties. Love that line for minds eye
eeeek…I love Halloween, I love making little favors for the kiddies and co-workers!
I love Halloween time. I love to make decorations and little goodie bags for everyone I can think of. This year I want to decorate a bird house with spooky paper and embellishments to make a haunted house. Makes me want to start now.
I enjoy making Halloween cards and I’m not even a fan of Halloween!
For the past 2-3 years I’ve wanted to make and mail out Halloween cards to family & friends, but for one reason or another I just haven’t done it. Several years ago I was thrilled to find the “Creature From The Black Lagoon” stamp at a stamp show. I’m still wanting to make Halloween cards using that stamp!
I LOVE the jackolanterns but never made cards, i LOVE those papers and really would like to make some beautiful cards!
I’ve never been boo’d but I’ve read about it and it sounds like a lot of fun! Maybe I’ll start it in my group of friends this year! It would be fun to make a few cards and some cookies or brownies and leave them as a sweet surprise!
Halloween is my Fave time.. I do it all Dress up .. and lots of BOOING!! Scare all the trick or treaters .. some refuse to get candy .. a little too scared lol carve pumpkins ,make cards too and some papercrafts too
Last year for Halloween we had a hanging dummy on our porch .. my friends kids thought I hung my DH in for eating candy LOL .The dummy was really freaky to look at, it looked a little too real . Now how to top it off this year … that poor dummy what will happen to him this year lol
We do class treats and just LOTS of treat in general ! LOL I always leave the mail carrier treats too, stick them in the mailbox for her to find!
Make lots of cards all the time! We love to hand out little treats to neighbors and family..friends too
thanks!
I think that the BOO’ing sounds like fun–we may have to try that this year! My baby girl is only going to be 10 months old on Halloween, so we probably won’t do too much trick-or-treating, but who can resist a little baby in a costume? I’m sure I’ll dress her up and take her visiting–and when she’s a little bigger, we’ll go all out!
I love to make halloween cards and small treats to give out to the neighborhood children! MME papers are fabulous and this line of papers looks great!
I love Halloween and am involved in a Bunco group and this year I’m hosting Halloween and have been making plans for a year for this gathering as I love to do Halloween goody bags and deliver to people throughout the neighborhood! Love the line of papers!!!
We have been “booing” for a handful of years now..I can’t imagine an October passing by without our frightful fun! I try to buy stuff on sale AFTER Halloween to save for the following year, candy excluded! It’s SUPER fun to pull it all out and divvy it up between all of our Boo bags since we’ve usually forgotten what we’ve purchased the year before!

Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday and we like to go all out. We decorate the house and the yard. We all dress up (even now that my kids are older, they still like to dress up….they go do their own thing though). I make treat bags for my neighborhood kids and make cards for my co-workers. Such a fun time!!
I love decorating at Halloween. I’m a Primative Arts fan so anything funky and out of the ordinary I love. I make gift tags for all my Trick or Treaters, and enjoy scrapbooking my Boo pictures using my cruicut machine!
Halloween is such a fun holiday to decorate for! And the Boo-ing sounds so much fun! Might have to start that tradition here!
I love Halloween. I make fun little cards, decorate the house (we have a cute little sign that we hang on our door-beware of the creeps!) and then go “booing” with my little nephew. He’s so adorable that he gets a ton of candy which all the grown-ups split up and eat afterwards!
We don’t celebrate Halloween like everyone else does, we goto our church and help out with a program that is called “Halloween Harvest For the Hungry”. The church youth group goes out all dressed up door to door, and collect food for our Metro food bank…they are allowed to collect candy…but here is the catch you have to put it into a HUGE pile of candy when you get back to the church. Then we sort the candy, then the kids can pick some candy out…
Anyways, the kids just love being part of this program every year and plus they get to help others who are in need.
Hugs,
Catherine

I absolutely love the Sept/Oct issue! Thanks so much for the pdf of the Boo poem and for the chance to win some fabulous collections from My Mind’s Eye!
Halloween is such a fun holiday to make cards for! Any everyone looks forward to getting one. This year I’ll make mini albums with those haunted house books…so fun!!!
I love Halloween, esp all the candy! LOL! We take our little ones trunk or treating then to a few houses! I may make a few cards this year! I love your Sept/Oct issue, full of great ideas!
Just got the issue in the mail yesterday and i’m lovin it!
For Halloween, I still get dressed up no matter what. If I’m handing out candy, going trick-or-treating with little ones, if i’m going to a party–i’m dressed up! It’s the one time of year where I can dress up with abandon and become someone or something else. Other than that, Halloween is never the same; except maybe stealing candy from my niece and nephew.
We generally don’t get too crazy for Halloween. We do some trick or treating around town and and at the zoo.
My neighborhood (a culdesac) closes off and has a party – and we dress in costume (some of us) and hand out candy. The kids seem to enjoy it and I know we do. We usually have a time grilling hot dogs and such and visiting before the fun begins. this is really my first year to make cards, but I don’t think they would go over as treats!
I bring out my two boxes of Halloween decorations and decorate the house. We don’t have any children but love handing out candy to the neighborhood kids.
My B-Day is soon after Halloween so I like to decorate and celebrate the festivities with Trick or treating with my Grandkids. Then I have all those Cute pictures too scrapbook!
I have made a couple costumes in the past. I have also made a couple Halloween cards. That’s about it for my Halloween creativity.
I love Halloween time. I boo people, send cards, make treats and decorate.
Hmmm, we don’t do much for Halloween anymore. The kids are grown and we live in the country. So the extent of my Halloween celebrating is bringing candy to work and occasionally wearing a costume to work. I’ve always loved this Halloween paper, though, and would love to win it, so thanks for the opportunity to do so!
Usually, we take our little one trick-or-treating to a few houses that we know (and usually end up with a TON of candy!).
We “Boo” around our neighborhood. But our *real* fun comes from taking our children (all four of them) over to my sister’s house. Our entire family gets together for a dinner of hot dogs with all the fixin’s, Frito-chili pies, and CUPCAKES!
Then, we take all the kids trick-or-treating together. It is so much fun because the kids range in age from 14 years down to 17 months!
