Hip, Hip Hooray…we’re off to C.H.A.! Cath and Susan are, right this very minute, roaming the floor of the Craft & Hobby Association Summer Show in Orlando – checking out the goods and bringing back a full report on all the delicious new products being released for fall and winter. Start drooling now…we’re here to get you in the spirit!

And I want to get you in the spirit of our September/October issue (that goes on sale TODAY!), but first I want to touch on one little bit of housekeeping. Some of you may have heard that CK Media (parent company of Paper Crafts magazine) was sold. The dust has settled, our name was changed to Creative Crafts Group, and we’re now an affiliate of New Track Media. Other than losing our beloved Art Director in the shuffle (more on that in a few days), we’re still here every day, putting together this magazine that we all love so very much.

So, right on schedule, here’s our September/October issue, packed full of fun for Halloween and sweater weather (and I hope you didn’t miss Cath’s Moxie Fab sneak peek last Friday!).

There’s something extra special fun about this issue, too – a You’ve Been BOOed sign that was custom-illustrated by our Lone Design Man Matt Anderson. I had so much fun BOOing people around the office last year that I asked Matt to help us share the fun with you in our own Paper Crafts way this year.

Share a little BOO! with your neighbors or co-workers this Halloween!

Use it as is or let the little artists in your life put color in the pumpkins and spook in the skeleton. You can download the pdf HERE. Have fun, and spread the BOO! spirit around your neighborhood or office this year. Tell ‘em Jennifer sent you. Hee Hee!

So tell me: what kind of fun do you scare up for Halloween? Have you ever gone BOOing? Do you make cards? Paper-crafted treats for a classroom or church group? Leave me a comment by midnight MDT on Friday, July 31 and I’ll pick two random winners of both of these spooktacular collections from My Mind’s Eye:

I have 3 little ones so we always go trick or treating. Plus a couple of years ago, our neighborhood did the booing thing on each others door steps. That was fun. I still don’t know who started it to this day!?!

  3. Kristin Y says:

This coming Halloween will be my first time making Halloween cards/gift tags! I can’t wait .. it will be so much fun! Being chinese and coming from Asia, we don’t celebrate Halloween but when we moved to Vancouver last year, we had a blast with our 4 year old daughter walking around the neighbourhood, checking out the halloween galore. Still looking around for ideas for mass production:)!

we HAVE been ‘boo-ed’ before, but it was called ‘spooked’ when it landed on our doorstep. our neighborhood is made of few houses in multi-acre yards, so, it is not ‘convenient’ to meet many of our neighbors.

i bought a pretty plate on clearance ($3) earlier this year, and plan to start our neighborhood’s game of ‘thankful’ in november. the only rules are that you have to (1) choose a neighbor you don’t know well to pass the plate of goodies to, (2) you must compliment them in some way, and (3) sign with your name and address. starting it out, i will pass my plate of goodies to our down-the-street neighbors who always invite my son for dinner when he’s over to play, and sent home a batch of cookies with him last week.

it’s a great idea to bring people (and families) closer together, which is fun in ANY season! thanks for the challenge! ~k

Hi I bake cupcakes for my grandchild’s class at Hallowe’en and decorate my house for the all the kids that come.

  6. Christine says:

Since my Mother, sister and I all live alone we are not comfortable opening our doors to all the trick or treaters. We go out to dinner each Halloween night. It’s nice and quiet because most of the others are Trick or Treating or at parties. We have such a good time!

    Blessings,
    Christine

  7. Ivanka says:

I love Halloween and usually make something for my girls to give to their friends…cards, chocolate pumpkin lolly pops (that we make ourselves) or some candy kabobs.

  8. becca says:

I love to make halloween cards for friends and family! I love the fall colors and the pumpkins, etc!

  9. I love making Halloween cards and yummy Halloween treats—-like “Mummy Meatloaf” and pretzel rods topped with white chocolate mummies (they’re so darn cute and really simple—-just use the plastic molds from Michaels Arts & Crafts).

  10. Jenny says:

Halloween isn’t really celebrated over here like you guys do it. I do always have sweets in for trick-and-treaters (nothing special) but seem to end up eating most of them myself as we don’t get many come round!

  11. Margaret says:

I love Halloween, as do my kids, since 2 of us have Halloween-season birthdays! We BOO each other within a group of moms and sometimes the neighbors do also. I make cards for my family. I think my kids like to pass out candy as much as they like trick-or-treating!! Thanks!!

  12. kellyann says:

I make up treat bags of candy for those that stop by our house. Since we don’t get a lot of little goblins, I can get fancy with the bags and give extra-good candy (since we can eat the leftovers!!!)
