I love trying new techniques – especially unusual ones.
As I was looking through some of my paper crafting supplies, I picked up a bottle of dimensional glaze. If you have not used dimensional glaze before it’s an awesome product that can be used in many ways. I decided to try something new with it. I decided to try a resist technique to make fun centers for some ribbon flowers.
To do this easy technique:
1. Make random dots of dimensional glaze on glossy white cardstock. Let dry thoroughly.

2. Sponge dye ink over the dots, which acts as a resist and color the glossy cardstock. Use a circle punch to punch out circles.

3. Place loops of ribbon under the edge of each circle to create whimsical flowers.

These cute flowers could be used on many types of projects but I decided to place the flowers on a gift bag to give to a friend.
And speaking of friends… as you are aware, I’m one the Pros who will soon be leaving my official position with Paper Crafts to pursue some other interests. I consider all you my friends and will miss the continuous association I have with you and the magazine. I’m looking forward to all the fabulous projects and ideas from the new Go-to Gals!
I would love to hear how you have used dimensional glaze in your projects. Post your ideas and let’s inspire each other to try some dimensional techniques! I’ll pick three random people to receive a copy of Paper Crafts 101. This ultimate resource guide actually boasts 37 fun techniques! All comments must be received by midnight (MST) on Thursday, July 9.

What a fun idea! So cute and simple! I’ve never used it so now I have to try it!
How fun! I love to use mine (I use Ranger’s Glossy Accents) to accent special parts of a stamp or just to bring shiny dimension to an area. It is so fun!
ooooh super cute idea
I’ve never used the dimensional glue before but will definitely have to try in the future!
I like using the glaze on a pattern that I want to highlight on a card.
I recently used dimentional glaze as raindrops on a “Love you, rain or shine” card.

these flowers are sooooo cute! Thanks for sharing this idea. I use it for all sorts of things- as adhesive, as highlights on wings or paper patterns, mix it with mica powder to create a pearlescent glaze…it’s great stuff.
I fill bottle caps with fun stuff and then seal with diamond glaze
I use mine on stamped images that I color to look like epoxy stickers.
I have just used it to add glitter too.

Here is a link to a card where I used the dimensional glaze to make the flower stamp pop. I use it all the time on chipboard letters and more.
I haven’t used dimentional glaze, but would love to!
I’ve never used dimensional glaze, isn’t that sad?
Hope you get to follow your dreams and do something fun!
Im still new at scrapbook and cards(12/07)
this dimensional glaze is the first time I heard of it…I guess I’ll have to buy some when SS starts paying disability…
What an awesome way to use that stuff….
Great project–I want to give it a try. How about making your own dew drops using a little re-inker to paint them with, or somehow add to the diamond glaze. Me thinks I really need to get into the lab.
i’ve never played with these but looks FUN!
Lovin’ the flowers – cute idea – TFS!
I’ve used dimensional glaze on small punched out pieces of cardstock and used ‘em as faux brads … instant matching brads AND they’ve less bulk but have the same effect so are great for cards being sent thru the mail!
i haven’t had a chance to try dimensional glaze but i would probabyl use it on cards..
I like the look of the flowers. I do not use dimensional glaze. I love stickles though to highlight items.
I love this idea! Your ribbon flowers are adorable! TFS!!!
transfers – you can put a thick coat of glaze, let dry fully and then wash away paper like you do with transfer tape transfers
Well this is just too cool!
I love dimensional glaze products, and will surely try this soon! Thanks!

I like to use the glaze to make polka dots like you. I also find myself making swirls with it. And also highlighting certain words in my journaling.
I used it to make my robot look more 3-d and metallic.
I used it on a cute christmas light wreath- colored the lights with prisma pencils & added the glaze- I loved how it turned out!
Those flowers are too cute!
great idea to share with us and I use it to make a vase of flowers stamped on paper look like glass and glasses and mirrors. It’s fun stuff.
Love this! Great idea, thanks for sharing!
What a cool technique – I’ll have to try that!
I use dimensional glaze in pretty conventional ways – make things look like they’re wet or made of glass, make fruit shiny, on snail shells, and on black shoes to look like patent leather. I really like the extra little detail that it adds!
it’s so so cute, love the way you use the dimensional glaze
i use it to create “shiny chipboard”
thanks for the chance
Love this product, but I never use it… wish I win !!!
thanks for the inspiration
I’ve used on flat stickers to add dimension.
I like to use it to dress up otherwise drab embellishments … it just adds that little extra something!!
That’s so cool! Thanks so much for sharing!
I use the diamond glaze for all sorts of projects! I stamp an image with versamark than color it in with chalk and than finish with diamond glaze, looks awesome! I also use it to adhere glitter I like how pronouced it looks! I have also used it to make raindrops over an umbrella.
I have generally only used dimensional glazes to pop up the dots in flourishes. But this is a whole new lovely idea!
I use it on flowers to give them an additional dimension and on anything else i have on my cards to make them stand out i love working with it thanks for the chance to win
Using dimensional glaze on rain drops is a favorite technique as well as to add “dew drops” to flower petals.
Gonna have to go buy this and then use it on flowers love the idea of dew drops
thanks for sharing this

Ooooo! I love your idea! I use dimensional glaze when I make buttons. I punch out 1″ circles out of my favorite designer paper and then with my 1/16″ punch I make two holes in the middle. Then I add the dimensional glaze over the top of the “button” and when it dries I use it on my project! I learned this at an on-line class – I LOVe the internet!!
