How was your World Card Making Day? No matter where you were or who you were with, I hope it was fun memorable!
Here at Paper Crafts, we are overwhelmed with the response to our fourth year celebrating this amazingly connective holiday. From manufacturers and online companies who were sponsoring events, to grass-roots blog hops and challenges, to individuals posting cards on their blogs, to groups of gals who gathered to make cards for charity, to those of you who really did get a jumpstart on your holiday cards, there was a lot going on as Oct. 3 worked its way around the globe.
Speaking of the globe, in the World Tour of Card Making that took place in the Moxie Fab World last week, we spotlighted 42 different designers in 17 countries. There were a total of 8,470 comments made–many of them in different languages–and 347 international bloggers joined in on the tour as well!
On the World Card Making Day web site, there was a blog tour for discounts on products in our online store and 383 other card makers did something special on their blogs for World Card Making Day, linking them on the site as well. Here’s some of the great cards that were featured on this tour:
Stinkin’ cute Boo Card by Becky from the Becky & Stacy Blog:

Fun Christmas Blessings Card by Lynn Miller:

Beautiful Blue Butterfly Card by Brises from Poland:

Cutie-pie Thanks a Latte Card by Michelle Woerner:

Fun Trick or Treat Card by Jona Panesa from the Philippines:

…and from what could be our youngest blogger in World Card Making Day history, this For You Card by eight-year-old Rebecca Ledlow:

Our Go-to Gals – Kim H., Maren, Teri, Betsy and Jessica were busy teaching classes at five winning retail stores around the country, while Kim K. was promoting the holiday at CKC-Glendale. Click their names for their takes on their experiences.
It was certainly a busy day, friends – but believe it or not, there’s still more fun to be had. If you live in the U.S. or Canada (except Quebec), you can send your Birthday, Christmas/Season’s Greetings, Hello/Thinking of You, Love and/or Thank You cards in to our World Card Making Day Card Contest to win a fantastic prize AND a spot in our March/April 2010 issue. But you need to hurry! Entries must be postmarked by Oct. 12! Click HERE for all the details!
What did you like most about World Card Making Day? My favorite part was the connections that I made with paper crafters from all over the world. With the click of the “translate” button, I was able to make friends with people I would never have met otherwise. Here’s hoping that the World Card Making Day spirit is alive within us all throughout the coming year until it’s time to celebrate again in 2010 on Saturday, Oct. 2!
I’d love to hear what you liked most about World Card Making Day and am prepared to thank you with a chance to win some fun embellishments from American Crafts. Just be sure to leave a comment by midnight (MDT) on Wednesday, Oct. 7 and I’ll draw three random winners!

I loved seeing the work of people in other countries. Very cool!
I love seeing all the different cards people have made all over the world. It also was a day to celebrate my favorite hobby and not have my husband complain that I’m making a card for no reason…lol.
Loved seeing the great ideas from all around the world!
As a new cardmaker, I loved having the opportunity to see so many different styles from which to take my inspiration from! I’m still trying to figure out just what my own style is.
I loved the “around the world traveling” to see cards from many locations! The bond we card makers share is strong, indeed!!
I loved the blog hopping and seeing all the great cards from such talented people. What crafting inspiration.
I loved blog hopping and seeing what different cards could be made with some of the same materials. (Also, creating with my son was so fun! There are pictures of him on WCDM creating on my blog today). Thanks!
Unfortunately, I really missed it all due to travel but I am looking forward to browsing all of the wonderful creations!
Thanks,
Alison

It was just wonderful seeing all the different styles from around the world. I was very impressed with the “translate” button–small world.
I loved the blog hop. It’s always fun to see what others come up with and inspires me to make cards in creative and crafty ways! Sometimes I get in a funk and need some idea “flow-age”…so this was the perfect remedy! So thank you!!!
You guys are great about sharing not only great ideas, but great prizes. Thanks!
Well I didn’t get to create this weekend but I did get to surf the blogs and loved all the cards, projects and inspiration!
I wasn’t able to participate in WCMD:-( I had family obligations but I did use a card I had made previously. Hopefully that counts!!!
Blessings,
Christine
it was really fun! i got to make cards now i have to send them off! seeing all the inspiration and challenges was a lot of fun!
The best part for me was the uninterupted time I was able to devote to card making. I know many others did not have that luxury, but I was sure glad I did THIS time.

WCMD was a blast in that it was so nice to just sit in front of the computer for a while searching for ideas, tips, and tricks from others who are card making addicts just like me.
WCMD was so fun because I took time out just to pull stuff out of my supplies, get messy, and even use up scraps! It’s the best feeling tou pull old stuff out and make it look fresh and new on a card again!
I loved blog hopping and enjoying all the creativeness that is out there! There is so much talent to soak up!
I enjoyed seeing all the wonderful cards made by different people from different countries!
I was completely bowled over that I had won this package and am soooo excited!!!!!! I can’t begin to say a big enough THANKS for the gals at Paper Crafts Connection and Moxie Fab World for bringing us the fun stuff they do and all the great ideas!!!!!

my fav part of the day was spending it with my hubby since he’s deploying soon… I’m having a blast scrolling through all the different blog posts from the day getting inspiration though!!
I just love the bond shared among papercrafters. Having a day to dedicate to card making is just fabulous!
I didn’t have much time to craft on Saturday, but I was able to blog hop over breakfast before my day got crazy…. I enjoyed that.

Congrats to sherry! I sooooo look forward to WCMD every year (well for the past 4 years at least)….I do some challenges on my own in the morning and then plan to spend the rest of the afternoon/evening with my friends and we end up eating, laughing, sharing, stamping and creating ALL NIGHT LONG and she is a great bartender too…so there’s a little of that too!
I loved WCMD because none of my friends share in my hobby and it is wonderful to feel like a part of a larger group. Such wonderful inspiration!!
I don’t have much time to join the fun of WCMD because I have to work from morning till night but still I was able to make 3 cards. I just love it for the reason that in a way, it brings out the artist within me
I’m still trying to get to all of the sites to see the fabulous cards.
It is so great to see how the designers’ styles differ. I am
picking up some new tips and downloading some fun cards to try.
