One of my favorite things about the holidays is sending and receiving holiday photos. It’s amazing how much people, especially children, change throughout the year.
This last year I decided to send photo cards year-round because great pictures can be enjoyed all year long! I take photos of the kids with their gifts for Thank You cards, and also have begun sending them off periodically to distant family and friends.
Photo cards are quick and easy to make, too. All you need is a good photo…let it do all the work for you!
Photo cards are the perfect way to say "hi".
Let someone know you are thinking of/missing them.
Or that you are thankful for them.

Not terribly original, but I usually just stick photos of my kids inside the yearly Christmas card. Other than that, I don’t send too many photos, except to grandparents, of course!

I share photos on our family blog. It’s the cheapest way:) I want to do photo gift tags for Christmas this year. Can’t remember where I saw that idea, but it’s a great one.

Love it! Photo cards are SOOOOO helpful in getting a greeting out if you are pressed for time, not to mention how very personal they can be. I have a blog entry scheduled to post on Nov 9th regarding this very subject! Please check it out!

Very cute cards! I’m terrible for sending pictures!! Just share them on picassa albums. I will do better in 2010!!!

I think it’s really cool to run the picture through your die cut machine using a spellbinder nestibilities! You get a really prettty cut out of your photo ready for matting on a card!

I’ve been trying to incorporate more photos into gifts that I give everyone because I have so many photos during the year to share.

I mostly share photos through Snapfish photo albums. Our family and friends are spread all over the country, so this is an easy way to share photos from trips we’ve taken or adventures we’ve had! In our holiday cards, we usually include a holiday letter created with Microsoft word. We’ll place photos throughout the letter showing the highlights of our year.

I often use photos on the inside of my cards, I’ve put magnets on the back so they can be put on the refridge or even a repositionable adhesive like wacky tack so they can be easily removed and placed somewhere else by the recipient.

I love using photo cards… I like to make them the center/focus. I love your cards though–I’m totally inspired! I will have to start making my cards bigger and better- like yours:) I also share them on my blog/FB/emails. Gotta love the digital camera:)

I take old photos and scan them into my computer. Then copy the picture to card stock and make the card, folidng the card stock so the picture is on the front. Usually sending the person a funny old photo with a funny saying for a Bday card or my Mom a Mom’s day card. I LOVE getting a phone call with the person laughing about their ’special’ card.

I used a photo of my grand daughter on the front of her 2nd birthday card. I’ve also used pictures from wedding “save the dates” for the fronts or inside of the couples’ wedding cards. The cards make a nice keepsake for the recipient….maybe they will end up on a scrapbook page!!

I usually email photos, I want to start to send them in cards…photo cards are a great idea!

I’ve bought a set of 9 wood blocks. I am going to print a photo large enough to cover all the squares, cut it into 9 and glue it on to make a wooden puzzle for my 2 year old. The other sides will be decorated with numbers, letters, shapes etc. Fun idea right!

Since I live by the ocean, I like to use recent photos of the waves, pelicans, or whatever on the front of my cards with a “Thinking of You” attached. Since we are grandparents now we wait for the pics of the girls to come to us!!!! I hope my DD reads this!!!

I used to make mini albums … but life has gotten so busy – I don’t even get them printed these days! =(

I don’t use photo cards, but my daughter-in-law does. She will pick about four or five pictures of the grand kids throughout the year, and print them on a card like a collage. It makes a great Christmas cards since they live so far from our family.

I made thank you cards with a photo of my newborn, but mine were very simple. These cards are very cool, must try them. Great thing for family and friends to receive.

I like to use lots of the kids photos. First day of school, school photos, Halloween photos, photos with Santa, ect.

I mostly share photos by emailing them to the grandparents since they are digital photos. I love how you incorporated the pictures into the cards, who wouldn’t love getting pictures of their loved ones throughout the year in the mail!? Thanks so much for sharing your ideas and inspirations!!

I usually share photos by attaching them to an email or including them inside cards I mail – instead of incorporating them into the cards, which I haven’t done. Can’t wait to see the new issue for ideas to do so.

I just picked up a little charm from 7 gypsies. I’m going to shrink a photo of the kids and make a christmas ornament out of it. I’m going to use them for my parents Christmas card.

I made my first photo card for my mom’s 70th birthday in August. I took a separate photo of each family member holding up a word from the “birthday song”. I printed them up wallet size and adhered them to the card front and inside. She loved it! I do believe I stole the idea from a past issue of Papercrafts or CK magazine.
