Groovin' with the Go to Girls I'm Dreaming of a Chocolate Christmas

Happy National Chocolate Covered Anything Day! Can you believe such a marvelous day actually exists?

Acoording to HolidayInsights.com, today is a “great day to indulge, binge, pig-out and otherwise consume to excess, your favorite food…chocolate. We believe the timing of this day, during the holiday season, couldn’t be better.” I couldn’t agree more!

Just think of all the sinful ways you can celebrate…Think of all the things that could be covered in chocolate!

In order to celebrate correctly, I decided to cover my favorite snacks in chocolate for a few last-minute teacher gifts.

  8. connie says:

This look so good! we were just talking about the chocolate cover ritz w/peanut butter at work yesterday.

  9. Here is an extremely quick chocolatey recipe. Fake Turtles!

    You need:

1 bag mini pretzels (the curled kind)
1 bag ROLO brand chocolate candies
    1 bag of whole pecans

Place a layer of pretzels on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Place 1 ROLO candy on top of each one and place in a 350* oven just until the ROLO candies start to melt, only a few minutes. Take them out of the oven and while the ROLO’s are still hot push a pecan into each one. Let cool and you have cheap, fast, easy turtle candies. And sooooo good!

    YUM! YUM! Happy Ho-Ho-Holidays!

  10. I came up with another quick recipe for Holiday S’MORES last year when I ran out of time for baking…
Kids love these and they are easy for kids to make as well…

    You need:
    1 bag mini marshmallows
    1 box graham crackers
1 bag of chocolate chips or melts

break the graham crackers into their smallest rectangles and place on waxed paper. Now place two mini marshmallows on each one. Melt the chocolate on the stove or in the microwave and drizzle over the marshmallows. When the chocolate sets the marshmallows are “glued” to the crackers. Easy to package, make, and eat!

  11. jenn C. says:

Yum! I used to make those PB sandwich cookies all the time :) Yesterday I made peppermint bark for the neighbors, but anything with chocolate is a win in my book!

  12. joie says:

To make the Ritz PB snack easier, just buy the pre-made mini Ritz pb crackers–the work’s already done. Cover those in chocolate or white chocolate! They’re bite size! Actually, you can eat a few in one bite!

  13. Krissy says:

My Gram used to put a dab of melted white chocolate in the center of a pretzel ring and then add an M&M on top. They look (and taste) great for any holiday. Change the color of the M&M and your ready for the next holiday. So easy to make! And they look cute in a cellophane bag tied with a pretty ribbon!

Enjoy! (Think I’ll celebrate this wonderful holiday by making Peppermint Bark)

  14. YUMMY. When should I expect them to arrive in the mail? ha ha ha

  15. Marla H says:

  25. Michele K says:

Chocolate covered peanut butter balls, oh my!

  26. Marta Fosco says:

Is there something out there that doesn’t taste good covered in chocolate? NAH! My favorite: chocolate covered popcorn (sprinkle a little salt on freshly popped popcorn and then mix it with melted chocolate, let it harden, or not!).

  27. Darlene L says:

Here is one very similar to another one posted.

Small waffle pretzels (hard to find) can use the small regular pretzel
    Top with candy kiss
Bake 3 to 4 minutes in 350 degree oven
Top with a red or green M and M

    Yummy!

  28. Carol M. says:

My Mom used to make all of her candy at Christmastime..Choc. covered cherries, pretsels, nuts, the little turtle things like mentioned before, just tons of stuff. Now that she’s gone I miss that.
