Freebie Friday Card Creations: Start to Finish Week!

P. Kelly Smith

Welcome to Freebie Friday! We may only be a week into the New Year, but it’s clear that the readers of this blog have one important goal for 2010: paper craft more!

Whether you want to try new techniques, a different style or (finally!) submit your designs for publication, we hope this year will be one where you “start” and “finish” many projects.

If you’re looking for a little inspiration to get those creative juices flowing, look no further than our latest special issue, Card Creations: Start to Finish, Vol. 2On sale now, this magazine boasts over 300 ideas for the front and inside of your cards!

All next week we’ll be spotlighting this inspirational magazine right here and on the Moxie Fab World blog. Since this issue has a unique “start to finish” premise, we’ll be following suit by starting our promotional week here on Monday and finishing the week with Cath on Moxie Fab World. Fabulous cards, daily giveaways…doesn’t that sound like paper crafting paradise?

Here on Paper Crafts Connection, instead of just one designer spotlight, we’ll be interviewing all three of our talented cover girls from Monday to Wednesday! Each one will have their own day to share their unique design secrets, as well as talk about the inspiration for their individual cover cards. Make sure you join us as we get to know Tanis Giesbrecht, Charlene Austin and Becky Olsen just a little bit better!

I started an altered arts book last year and I only have 4 pages complete. I vow to finish it this year!!!!

  7. This year I would like to “Finish” Part 1 of my niece’s scrapbook! It is a project my sister asked me to work on, and I have hit most of the major events up to now. My niece is going to be 10 this year, and I have a deadline of her high school graduation, so I have some time, but I would like to at least have a sense of accomplishment on that project at some point this year!

Thanks for the opportunity for such a fun giveaway!!

  8. jen shears says:

I would love to get my photos edited, so when I have time, they’ll be ready to scrap! These are adorable binders- thanks for the chance to win them! :D

  9. Carol M. says:

For 2010, I want to finish the scrapbook I started about my son Jake after he passed in 2004. At first I was too tramatized to do much but look at the photos. Then I started it by designing my cover and have several pages done. Then I hit a snag and it made me sad again.

Anyway, that’s my goal!!! And I’m sticking to it!!

  10. Justasiam says:

My goal is to finish painting the rest of the rooms in my house. I have the livingroom and bedroom finished, but there’s so much more!

  12. helen says:

so many goals, so little time! i would like to start scrapbooking again. i stopped when my sister died four years ago, i could not look at photos anymore as i had already lost two siblings. my dad died this summer and somehow i have a little more peace around the deaths, as i know they are all with my dad as a little family in heaven. scrapbooks would give me an opportunity to share with my mom and she might enjoy the walk through the memories as she is in the beginning stages of alzheimers.

  13. Karen from Ontario says:

My goal is to keep venturing outside my comfort zone and to organize my stamps.

  14. Nancy says:

My ‘big’ project to finish/start this year is a scrapbook of my son’s cancer survival. The cancer is ‘gone’ but the effects are life changing.

  15. Simone says:

I’m hoping to finally finish an album on our precious little furbabie. I was meaning to have had it completed a while ago but she’s been giving us such cute photo moments every now and then that the photo pile to scrap keeps getting bigger!!

  16. Kay says:

I would like to finish a Christmas album I’ve been working in. It highlights all of our Christmas’ for the past several years. I VERY close to being done!! YEA!!

  17. There is a quilt, all cut, not pieced, in a box, on a shelf, in a closet. Such guilt. Ha, a guilt quilt!

  18. I would like to finish organizing my craft area. I’ve done a bunch, but I need to label the drawers that hold my rubber stamp sets. I forget what I have if I’m not organized!!!

  19. Linda Gilbow says:

In 2010 I would like to make a scrapbook of my son’s life from birth to his untimely death at age 19. I have bought the album; my next step is to finish sorting pictures and begin making pages.

  20. Charlene says:

    These binders are neat!
I’m not sure what project I’d like to finish this year. I did begin a 25th anniversary scrapbook for me and my hubby last year (since we celebrated 25 years married), but I’m beginning to believe it may be an ongoing project for me… :)

Well, if I can organize my craft things a bit better and “Use what I have” I’ll be happy.

  22. Janet Sisk says:

My biggest and most involved project that I would love to START and FINISH is to get my stamping room organized and cleaned out. I have SO much stuff that I get overwhelmed just looking at it. The mess is really hindering my ability to create. I need motivation and time to really get this done. I am short on both right now. Help! I sure would love to win this prize – maybe it will motivate me. :D

I would like to find the “perfect” 12×12 paper storage solution and stick by it. ;)

  29. Christine N says:

I have so many things to finish! I have wool suits that I started sewing in the 70s and gave up finishing them because I had grown out of them before I got back to the project. I think I’m going to find something to do with the many pieces of fabric that I’ve purchased over the years. A lot of them will be donated!!!

    Blessings,
    Christine
