Freebie Friday – Happily Ever After

 Freebie Friday Happily Ever After

P. Kelly Smith

Welcome to Freebie Friday! I’m currently enjoying a couple days off as my family is in town to celebrate the wedding of my cousin Tanner and his beautiful bride Darlene. Now if the weather would just cooperate with us!

We’re religiously watching The Weather Channel hoping that the reported “60% chance of rain and snow” will miraculously change to “clear and sunny skies”. While I’ll most likely be adding an umbrella and a thick coat to my weekend wardrobe, I’m relieved to know that come rain or shine, two young people will soon begin their happily ever after.

Isn't Darlene's wedding dress just gorgeous? My 75-year-old grandma created this beauty from a picture in a magazine. No pattern!

And even though Darlene is not a paper crafter, I’m already thinking about her wedding album and what paper and embellishments I would use to capture this very special day in her life. Luckily, fate stepped in and made that choice very easy: Imaginisce’s new To Love & Cherish collection!

This week we got to preview Imaginisce’s new lines and this one immediately spoke to me (I’m a sucker for black and white!). Not only is it perfect for wedding, but it can also be used in so many other applications and occasions:

How cute is this altered composition book? And if you look closely, they used their i-top to create a magnetic closure in the center of the flower. Genius!

Wouldn't a set of these notepads make the perfect gift? The flower embellishment was also created with the i-top.

I can tell you right now that I’ll be stealing these ideas for an upcoming card group project. So fun and easy!

In honor of my cousin’s wedding, I’m giving away a WHOLE set of the To Love & Cherish collection! Leave a comment telling me your favorite wedding color combination and ONE person will win this fabulous prize package. All comments must be received by midnight (MST) on Sunday, Feb. 14.

  1. I think that I like the black and white color scheme, too. I’ve become tired of most of the colors over the years (for weddings), but black and white are very nice.

Oh love the dress! My favorite are black and white with a splash of color, any color, lime green, teal, purple. It’s elegant with a bit of personality!

Awesome dress! I like white, black & silver. For my wedding, it was sunny before the wedding. It rained like the dickens during the ENTIRE wedding & picture sessions, then nothing but clear blue skies the rest of the day! (we have been together almost 20 years & still going strong! Maybe it was good luck for us?? hee hee)

  5. Nicole says:

I’m a sucker for the colors of flowers – cream, yellows, pinks, and deep burgundies for weddings. And congrats to the couple and fingers crossed for sun!

  8. Tanja S says:

I love the elegance of cream/ivory, paired with any other elegant colour, burgundy or dark green, “old” pink etc. Most colour combos at weddings seem to look great, partly because everyone puts so much effort into looking their best and also because the happy couple and attendants are beaming!

  9. Simone says:

Stunning dress! I love the classy and classic black and white combo with a touch of silver here and there.

Congratulations to Tanner and Darlene. I hope it was a wonderful day!

My fave combo is bright summer colors. Pink, orange, green.

Ours was more simple, blue and silver. I’m not sure but I may have been the first bride ever to let her maid on honor choose the color. She had the choice of red or blue. Whatever dress she found we would go with.

  28. Merilee says:

What a gorgeous wedding gown! I, too, love to sew and created a one-of-a-kind wedding gown for my sister-in-law when she married my brother. It was a wonderful experience to be able to make a contribution to such an important part of someone’s life.

My favorite wedding colors are straight from my niece’s wedding. She had a beautiful autumn wedding in Chicago. Her colors were lovely shades of burnt orange and crimson–a stunning duo. I created the flower girls dresses for that wedding (for my two granddaughters) and also made autumn wreaths to crown their little heads. I’ll never forget how beautiful it was! :o )

I love moss green and purple wedding colors although my own wedding was yellow and apricot colors. Every bride is beautiful and when there is romance in the air it is spectacular! my second marriage 5-year anniversary is in a couple of months and i’ll always think back to my intimate wedding atop a long-ago volcano, wind blowing, high above everything around us here in Alaska…me in my yellow suit with yellow and apricot flowers and family nearby…the happiest day of my life.

  31. Kristine says:

Hello! This is my first time reading your blog and it looks great. :-) I’m excited to look through the rest to see what else you have to share. I haven’t looked yet, but do you by any chance have a post on how to use the i-top? I just looked at it on Imaginisce’s website and I’m a little confused.

Recently, I’ve been really liking cream and seafoam for weddings, especially in the spring. :-)

    Congratulations to your cousin!!
