Attention all list makers! Are you like me and have a bazillion little notes left in every corner of the house? I vow to get that under control in 2010. One month down and I’m doing umm…okay with keeping up.
I find there to be a wealth of information here on the Paper Crafts Connection blog, don’t you? So, I decided to keep a special journal next to my computer, compiled of notes, design ideas and inspiration.
I found an old journal book that I had only used a couple of times (because those little notes never seemed to make it in there). I covered it with some fresh Three Bugs in A Rug paper, added a black paper strip to the spine and voila…a sweet place to leave my Paper Crafts Connection notes!

I chose to keep my cover simple. I didn’t want anything dimensional on it to distract me, and I decided on a fresh color palette to make me smile every time I pick it up.

The inside page is a pocket, just in case I do reach for some scrap paper to write something on. These little notes can slip inside and still be where they should be, until they make it into the journal.

The editors and Go-to Gals shared what they were looking forward to in 2010 in this post, so I wrote a few extras in my journal.

I was inspired by a card on Melanie Douthit’s blog, so I created two sketches based on her design and made note of a fun color combo to use in the future.

Inspired by Brandy’s Happy Bird Day post, I jotted down some fun ideas to keep in mind when I create.

And I wrote a friendly reminder to myself to create something FUN based on the new Card Creations: Start to Finish special issue!
If you don’t have a journal handy, try making a cover for a notepad. Or bind a book with different colored papers. Punch a hole in note papers and tie a ribbon through them all. The point is to keep all of your notes together and to find inspiration here.
Beautiful creations, challenges, prizes…what else could you ask for? It’s all here, and I make a point to stop by every day. I hope you do as well.
Happy Blogiversary, Paper Crafts!

Thanks for the post today. It reminds me I need to get all my little notes and drawings all in one easy place.
This blog makes me want to make things! I have a fabric covered journal a friend made and sent me that will be perfect for this.
Love it! Kim – you just inspire me! You’re so creative and I want your handwriting!
OK. I’m finally doing it. I started a notebook that contains all the quotes and greetings that I’ve jotted down on a gazillion scraps of paper. I’ve divided the book into sections such as birthday, sympathy, humorous, etc. That you so much for the inspiration. Now whenever I need that perfect saying I just go to my book.
This blog is full of inspiration! The different styles of cards that are posted on a regular basis are my favorite. I love breaking out of the box & trying something new.
I love that you have covered your journal!!! I have done that every year for my farm and garden journal, where we keep our notes and related entries for our planting of our gardens, flowers etc…I can’t wait now to m cover my new journal for the farm this year-you have definitely inspired me to get my new journal done-and then to make one for my crafting ideas too!!
One way this blog inspires me is with ways to keep myself motivated…like with a journal like the one you describe. Writing in a journal like that would make me think about card making, at least one time a day, even if every thing else is crashing down around me!
I was actually given an awesome journal for Christmas that I am using to jot down ideas as I peruse different blogs. I love all the great ideas that you bring to us everyday.
BTW…I LOVE your handwriting!
Charmaine
I need to do a list for my changes in 2010. This book would be perfect. Thanks for the giveaway!
This blog inspires me to actually DO something. It’s so easy to read about all of these awesome tips and tricks and to be inspired, but I’m actually motivated to CREATE! Love love love it!
I love the bright colors for your journal! Your blog inspires me by teaching me new techniques and finding new ways to use the products I have. Thanks for sharing.
This blog is constantly inspiring me to go create! As soon as I get onto PC blog, I am done with the computer because it is time to go play!!
I love seeing how you pick out different inspiration points from the blog posts – and your handwriting is fab!
Notes and lists are essential to my everyday home and work life and it’s refreshing to see such an attractive way to manage it all. I am inspired to follow suit!
I appreciate all the great tips (like how to organize or inventory supplies), inspiration (all the great cards), challenges, and giveaways. It’s fun, polished, and professional.
I have a hard time keeping all those “notes” in one place, too. I have a pretty little notebook I keep on my desk, but it’s a challenge. I’m also trying out a couple of digital solutions. I’ve begun to email challenges to myself (as I usually see them in Google Reader), noting the deadline in the subject line. I also love keeping bookmarks to inspirational projects and cards on a website called vi.sualize.us (http://vi.sualize.us/) since it allows you to save a thumbnail image and the URL where you found it.
This is such a great idea! This blog is filled with so many great ideas, and to put everything down in a beautiful notebook is the perfect spot for inspiration instead of spending an hour going through the blog posts trying to find the one to inspire!
I love the samples for inspiration! I look for design, color combinations, interesting details and new ways to use embellishments. Thanks for all the inspiration!
Paige
I’m inspired by the photos on the blog.
This blog inspires me by showing me ways that I never would have thought of to use the products that I’m buying.
I was really inspired by the notebook that you made! It was so cute and it would definitely help me organize my thoughts and ideas! And I like that you made sketches of card ideas! I might decorate a notebook and devote it completely to sketches! Thanks for your good ideas!
I love the ideas, tips and vision. This blog keeps me in the know about trends and what is next. I appreciate all the inspiration! I am a collector of notes and paper. I even tried the notebook idea, but I ended up with several notebooks tucked everywhere. I hope to tackle the problem one day.
Gosh, what doesn’t inspire me on this blog??!
I love the daily dose of projects and ideas to spur my own creativity. Not only are the designers who share work here so talented, but they’re generous too…generous in sharing with this crafting community in the online world – it’s great how interactive we can all be through the blog!
I was just thinking this morning that I need to get a system to help me remember what kinds of papers I like using and ideas for color combinations. I am a definite lister, so this is a fantastic method for me to take on. Thanks for the inspiration!
I love the idea of an inspiration journal! I covered a comp book to keep my daily and weekly lists in for 2010, but love the idea of a central place for all the design inspirations and quick thoughts I have about crafting! I will be making one of these this week!
I just made a sketch book for doodling, now I am going to make another one to jot down ideas like you do, such a great idea!
Hmmm – I’m always inspired by different things. I love challenges but today I was inspired by your fun printing in your journal! How can I CASE that?…
This blog inspires me with so many ideas: cards, stamps, organization, colors, trends. Love it!
This blog inspires me to be more creative and use products in more original and creative ways!
I love inspirational journals. I have about 7 or 8 of them and I go back to them also. I love to add quotes in mine, sketches, color combos, lists, journaling ideas, website notes, etc. I’m always caring one with me in my messenger bag.
I purchased a couple of cool notebooks, perfect for journal size on clearance a couple of years ago. I’ve been meaning to have a “crafts” journal–to list tips, cards I want to make, projects etc and I’m ready to get going on it. Thanks–love the blog!
This blog is inspiring me to get started stamping and paper crafting! Thank you.
Everything about this blog inspires me but I really like it when you feature the go to gals!
Blessings,
Christine
I just love all the fabulous things I see on the blog and the Go- To Gals always have fabulous cards/projects and tips to share. Thanks for the chance to win!
what a great idea for the journals!
Love your idea for a journal! I started one with a three ring binder that I also include sketches that I have printed from the computer from the many different blogs and challenges on the internet. I also have room to jot notes and ideas. Now I just need more time in my day to try some of the ideas and sketches that I’m putting into my binder / journal…..”sigh”.
This blog always inspires me! I usually read it when things are slow at work (ssshhhh) and I just can’t WAIT to get home and things done around the house so I can steal some “creativity” time for myself.
i love the featured cards/projects that are constant eye candy on this blog!!
I am constantly inspired by the amazing work that I see here! It make me try new techniques or styles in my own crafting!
It takes a while for all the new CHA stock to get to us down here at the bottom of the world, but it`s always great to see what others create with the yummy stuff. Thanks for your post, & I LOVE your hand-writing too : )

I am inspired by all of the fabulous creations & segments that you post…. so much creativity!!!
The little notes all over the house is sooo me, but you definitely inspired me to cover a notepad and keep it by the computer for notes on things to do and inspiration. Thanks sooo much!
I love your journal idea. Right before Christmas, I made myself a beautiful journal. I made dividers, pockets, and etc. The problem…I have not written one word in in yet. Thanks for the inspiration. I will make my first entry tomorrow.
I just started a similar idea book last week and already it’s helping me keep track of things. My desk used to be covered with Post-It Notes. Not anymore! Thanks for sharing Kim!
