We’re getting close to one of my favorite days of the year…Easter! Roll springtime, resurrection and pretty pastels all up into one day, and you’ll find me smiling from ear to ear!
Hopefully by now you’ve had the chance to drink in all of the springtime goodness in the March/April issue. Did you SEE the eggs that Kim Kesti created in Tips, Tools, & Techniques? Talk about wowie-wow! I simply asked Kim to come up with some creative ideas of how to use her paper crafting supplies to decorate eggs, and away she went!
The six eggs that appeared in the magazine are pretty inspiring. I mean, who is brave enough to even attempt stamping and embossing on an egg shell? Kim is, and look at the awesome results! Kim also used acrylic paint, rub-ons, finger paint, paper flowers, patterned paper, adhesive pearls and glitter to dress up half a dozen simple eggshells. Aren’t these simply gorgeous?
Here are some fun ways to dress up some eggshells!
One thing you probably don’t know is that Kim actually decorated three more eggs that didn’t appear in the magazine. Yes, she blew out THREE MORE yolks which really isn’t all that fun! Don’t be afraid to try glimmer mist, stickers, gems and ribbons on your eggs.
So as you head into Easter and are trying to think of a fun craft to do with the kids or for yourself, consider all of the pretty pastel goodness that you can find in your craft supplies, and scramble up some egg decorating fun!

Well, gee, this was hard. All the eggs are beautiful but I picked the pale speckled one with the blue flower-delicate looking- which I am sure it is!! Thanks for sharing her talent.
They are all egg-ceptional!! But I really love the first one! I love the pink color and those gorgeous pearls on it!!

Kim is way talented!! She ROCKED this one for sure!!!! Only she could imagine 9 (count them…NINE) ways to deorate eggs in a different way! I personally love the pink one with the pearls and patterned paper, but am fond of the Jenni Bowlin rub-on one because it is so regal looking in gold. The combo of all of her inspiration is just so much that it is overwhelming. I have trouble creating a card, for heaven’s sake!! She’s done a great job! Kudos to her.
I like the stamped and embossed one just because she was able to accomplish it!
All of the eggs are pretty, but I think I like the yellow egg with the flowers and gems the best! It seems so spring-like and cheerful! Thanks for a chance to win them.

I loved them all but am especially fond of the “golden egg”. The gold rub-ons are beautiful and just give it that special look. But I loved the egg with the pearls and also the glittery one. Wait!!! I love them all!!!!

I love the yellow one !!….Yellow was my mom’s favorite color…and April 18th would have been her birthday !! Would love to put this in my NEW yellow bedroom as it would remind me every day how bright and wonderful she was ! Thanks…They all are beautiful !!!!

Ok well I have changed my mind! lol. I love the stamped and embossed egg! I couldnt imagine how difficult that was to do! Very impressive! It is so elegant looking. I love that egg!!!!

These are all lovely and amazing. I’ve always wanted to do Pysanky-the Ukrainian egg decorating technique, but it seems very difficult, though the eggs are beautiful. My favorite is the stamped & embossed egg.

The Jenni Bowlin rub ons is my favourite! Those eggs are so gorgeous and could be displayed all year round. What a fantastic job!
They are all beautiful but my fave is the acrylic white with the gold rub-ons. It reminds me of something from my mom’s collection. Love it! Lori B!

I love love love them all! I do have to say, though, that I think the pink one with the paper and pearls is my favorite – gotta love the use of my fave crafting supply – patterned paper.
They’re all fabulous! But my favorite is the one with gold rub-ons – so elegant! I’m inspired. Since my kids have gotten too old to color eggs, I think I’ll make one of these/year.
I am in love with the white with gold embossed open flowers. I think they are all super and so creative but the white with gold just really stands out for me.

Hands down, the gold embossed eggs, especially the one in the top upper left, is my favorite. I love the elegance of it; it looks so incredibly complicated and yet it is fragile. This article was one of my favorites in the magazine; years ago I made homemade dyes from natural products (blueberries, beets, tea) and created masks from plants (ferns, bleeding hearts, etc.). The eggs turned out so pretty; I am anxious to let my crafting supplies loose on a dozen eggs using Kim’s ideas to see what happens.
Anything that glitters is always a favorite with me and I just love doodlebug anything.

I love the Golden Egg that she finger painted with the Ranger Dimensional Shimmer Paint. It’s Gorgeous! It even shows the shine good in the photos….Love That!
They are all gorgeous! having a terrible time deciding between the gold rub-ons and the pink with paper and pearls. The gold embossing is great too. I think I prefer the simplicity of the rub-on and embossed eggs. They are beautiful enough to make me want to try to make them myself.
