Welcome to Magazine Monday! Did everyone have a good weekend? I hope you managed to squeeze some paper crafting into your busy schedules. (FYI: We’re currently accepting submissions for our September/October 2010 issue! Click HERE for more details!)
I don’t know about you, but I usually have to be inspired before I sit down and create. Sometimes a photograph sparks my creativity, sometimes it’s a heartfelt quote, but most of the time, it always comes down to gorgeous product. And if sparkles, even better!
So when our friends at Doodlebug Design invited us and the Creating Keepsakes team to their new building, all of us envisioned a bright, happy place dripping in sparkling glitter. And the good news is we weren’t wrong! Besides viewing their new product lines, they also gave us a tour of their brightly painted offices, warehouse, conference rooms, exercise room and even their bathrooms! Talk about a rainbow of color!

Brady Lovell, their graphic designer extraordinaire, greeted us under their colorful sign.
And yes, that’s a stapler in Brady’s hand. Only at magical Doodlebug does an ordinary stapler transform itself into an actual working telephone!

Being the owner definitely has its perks! Here's Cynthea Sandoval's pretty pink office.

This vintage license plate can also be found in Cynthea's office.

Yes, this dress is made from paper. It's called White Flourish (1436). Did I mention it's paper?

Just in case the employees are inspired to work out before or after work, Doodlebug has their own gym, complete with staff lockers.

With Doodlebug's Tonya Prawitt looking on, Creating Keepsakes' Megan Hoeppner flexes her muscles for us!

Need a shower after that workout? Here's the boys' blue bathroom.

Even the shampoo and conditioner is color-coordinated! The girls' bathroom has pink and green bottles to match the pink walls!

Next on the tour was their very tidy warehouse. Row after row of gorgeous paper, stickers and embellishments. Can I get lost now?

Where was this sticker when I needed it on Valentine's Day?

No field trip is complete without a team picture on a comfy couch!
Thanks for the fun tour, Doodlebug! I now know the secret to their success…color-coordinated shampoo and conditioner! In all seriousness, I couldn’t agree more with this Doodlebug philosophy: “Surrounding yourself with playful colors promotes creativity and will brighten your day!”
Now our friends at Doodlebug want to brighten you day! They just released six new collections: Feeling Groovy, Mother Nature, Summertime, Great Getaways, On the Go, and Barnyard. Leave a comment telling me what color of paint you would pick for your Doodlebug office (we can all dream, right?). Three random winners will each receive one of the aforementioned collections! All comments must be received by midnight (MST) on Tuesday, March 9.
Happy Monday!
Kelly

That was fun to see! I would make it blue on top and green on the bottom of the walls…. and have fun!
I actually think that green is the perfect shade…it’s the color I want to paint MY studio!!!
I would have my office be green, pink, and blue> Two walls across from each other would be pink and one side would be blue and the other side would be green. Every day is a new day for me so whatever mood I am in would be the wall I face for the day.
Definitely green for me!
- April
I’d pick pool, with splashes of lime and black.
Light Turquoise blue…definitely turquoise!
Periwinkle is the color for me – just enough purple and just enough blue!
Pink! Has to be pink, I love it! Doddlebug office are so cool!
Green definitely green!!! Green for spring!! Thanks!!
Oh, wow! I think better in spaces with softer colors (brights make me hyper!) but I love color so much that I would paint my walls with patterns that have lots of color. Maybe one wall would be a pale green dotted with flowers of various colors like the little meadow outside my craft room; another wall would be painted to simulate a pale blue sky with some clouds in it; the third wall with a very pale orange color with pale purple dragonflies; the last wall would be a very soft & subtle marbled pattern of pale yellows and oranges.
Can you tell I’m dreaming of painting my craft space walls? =D
My Doodlebug office would be a rainbow of colors! I would love polka dots of various bright colors on a backdrop of white. I think white furniture with lots of bright colored accent pieces would be the finishing touch. Thanks for the fun chance to design my dream office. AND a chance to win a fab prize, too!
I’m more of a neutral girl, but if I went for color… I think a nice orange would do. =D
I would choose an aqua blue office with accessories that were polka dots and stripes of different yummy colors like lime green, bright pink, sunshiney yellow, and tangerine orange. Thanks for the chance to win!
I think I would go for yellow with spring green with maybe some hot pink accents.
I would definitely pick lime green! I am considering painting one wall in my new scrappy room that color right now!
I would paint my office Apple Green with Black Accents.
I LOVE all of Doodlebug’s colors, so I’d probably have to have a stripe of each color painted in the shape of a Rainbow in my craft room. Really any of there colors would work because all of the Doodlebug line of colors and products is super cute.
what a fabulous place they have!!! i’d definitely go with a teal/turquoise color- my fav
I would do black, white and RED for accents. I would use the black & white in a fun pattern,
How fun it would be to work at Doodlebug. A medium purple would be awesome.
I would paint my office the same color as my bedroom, which is a lavender. I love that color.
pink and green: preppy, clean, bright.
thanks for the tour!!!
apple green would be my color of choice. Thankfully, my studio is that color since I don’t get to work at Doodlebug!
Ohh, i’d paint it…light yellow! i love the warm feeling it conveys! it relaxes and inspires me!
Red, red, glorious red, with hits of turquoise! What a scrumptious place to work!
What a fun tour!!!
I’d probably go with turquoise, or maybe that yummy pink in the owner’s office!! So fun!

Loved that green in the pic with Brady!
I LOVE the pepper grass green that I painted my dd’s wall in her room yesterday… so either that, or a bright pink just like the pic of Cynthea’s office (LOVE IT!!!)
I love turqoise blue…it reminds me of the ocean:) Who wouldn’t be happy thinking about the beach.
