Welcome to Magazine Monday! Did everyone have a good weekend? I hope you managed to squeeze some paper crafting into your busy schedules. (FYI: We’re currently accepting submissions for our September/October 2010 issue! Click HERE for more details!)
I don’t know about you, but I usually have to be inspired before I sit down and create. Sometimes a photograph sparks my creativity, sometimes it’s a heartfelt quote, but most of the time, it always comes down to gorgeous product. And if sparkles, even better!
So when our friends at Doodlebug Design invited us and the Creating Keepsakes team to their new building, all of us envisioned a bright, happy place dripping in sparkling glitter. And the good news is we weren’t wrong! Besides viewing their new product lines, they also gave us a tour of their brightly painted offices, warehouse, conference rooms, exercise room and even their bathrooms! Talk about a rainbow of color!

Brady Lovell, their graphic designer extraordinaire, greeted us under their colorful sign.
And yes, that’s a stapler in Brady’s hand. Only at magical Doodlebug does an ordinary stapler transform itself into an actual working telephone!

Being the owner definitely has its perks! Here's Cynthea Sandoval's pretty pink office.

This vintage license plate can also be found in Cynthea's office.

Yes, this dress is made from paper. It's called White Flourish (1436). Did I mention it's paper?

Just in case the employees are inspired to work out before or after work, Doodlebug has their own gym, complete with staff lockers.

With Doodlebug's Tonya Prawitt looking on, Creating Keepsakes' Megan Hoeppner flexes her muscles for us!

Need a shower after that workout? Here's the boys' blue bathroom.

Even the shampoo and conditioner is color-coordinated! The girls' bathroom has pink and green bottles to match the pink walls!

Next on the tour was their very tidy warehouse. Row after row of gorgeous paper, stickers and embellishments. Can I get lost now?

Where was this sticker when I needed it on Valentine's Day?

No field trip is complete without a team picture on a comfy couch!
Thanks for the fun tour, Doodlebug! I now know the secret to their success…color-coordinated shampoo and conditioner! In all seriousness, I couldn’t agree more with this Doodlebug philosophy: “Surrounding yourself with playful colors promotes creativity and will brighten your day!”
Now our friends at Doodlebug want to brighten you day! They just released six new collections: Feeling Groovy, Mother Nature, Summertime, Great Getaways, On the Go, and Barnyard. Leave a comment telling me what color of paint you would pick for your Doodlebug office (we can all dream, right?). Three random winners will each receive one of the aforementioned collections! All comments must be received by midnight (MST) on Tuesday, March 9.
Happy Monday!
Kelly

I would find just the right shade of bluish green for my dream room.
One of my bedroom walls is purple and I never grow tired of it. I love bright colors.
How fun! Very colorful!
I am all about GREEN. Love it all shades.
Mine would be aqua blue! Probably about the color of the boys’ bathroom! LOL! Have always loved that color! In fact, years ago the living room walls were that color in a little farm house we rented! ~Bev~
It would have to be purple for me. I love all of Doodlebug’s bright happy colors, and all their glitter paper, too!
i love the pretty bright green and blue!
Teal all the way!
yellow, definitively a bright lemon yellow!
Aqua! What a fun tour….thanks for sharing!
I would love a pink craft room!
My first thought was pale pink but then I remembered my new love of turquoise! Ooh, maybe I could combine them…
Purple! In fact, the color of the shampoo/conditioner bottle on the right in the pic of the boys’ bathroom is just about perfect!
Love the aqua and/or blue colors of the boys’ bathroom. This would be my first choice as I”ve always loved blues in any shade or hue. Thanks for the tour!
I adore green and orange and yellow… can I have stripes?! Such a fun tour looks like a fab place to work!
It would have to be purple hands down! Love the Doodlebug colors!
Would have to be mauve in it somewhere – thanks for the tour, what a great place!
Oh how I love Doodlebug — nice to see that their office is just a colorful as their products – looks like a fun place to work. I’d love my office to be turquoise! with some hot pink accent pieces!
I love the Doodle Bug offices! How great would that be! I would choose Hot pink and black for my office. They look so good together and nothing says girl like hot pink!
Thanks for the chance to win!!
Ooh, that green or a bright shade of yellow would be perfect!
I recently painted my craft room/office area Summer Dragonfly ~~Very fresh & airy feeling…Love the turquoise & brown combo~~
definitely the hot pink! We just remodeled our house adding an upstairs. Our contractor said it looks like a bag of Skittles up there! It is so awesome to see all that wonderful color! Love it. The outside of our house is kermit green and the shop is orange. It looks marvy! Some of the other folks in town are getting brave and moving out to paint their homes bright colors!!!
The colors in my office would be: The walls would be beige with an accent wall done in a light grayish blue. My floors would be a light oak and white border trim on the upper and lower walls. I would have a huge arch window that I could look out. I would have polished nickel floor and desk lamps. I would also have a lounge couch in a chocolate brown, and a white accent rug on the floor.
I would pick a super yummy lime green. Looking in my closet and seeing how much of my clothing includes this color – I realized that it must be my true favorite.
I am not surprised by the cheery office. Your products are fun so must the people be! I would paint the walls pink with accents of lime green and brown. You have to surround yourself with color if you live in Ohio where the days are dreary from November through March! Thanks for the peek.
Okay, I have to say that I would want my Doodlebug office colors to be blue with chocolate color dots on the walls.
Ahhh it’s such a beautiful spring day and I just love color – doodlebug colors – and I’m gonna paint my office Limeade Green and all my crown moldings and window panes will be painted Bubblegum Pink and all the girls will be so jealous.
Wow, bright colors are so energizing and inspiring! I would surround myself with shades of purple with pops of teal. These colors would make any work day get a spring in its step!
I am crazy for purple and red with blue as an accent!
I love that pink office! But, I think I would have an orange office, with pink and green accents.
A pretty pale blue! With black and white print touches.
What a georgeous bunch of bright colored rooms and decor. I have a small studio that I would paint a sage green. This color reminds me of being outdoors in the summer. (we have long winters where I live in N.E. Alberta, Canada)
a lovely moss/celery green…it’s just so calming! Looks like a fun field trip!
ooohhhh, that green that they have makes me happy happy HAPPY! It’s my favourite colour!
I would love a calm Robin’s egg blue.
I just love doodlebug! If I got to paint an office with one of their colors, it would have to be purple! Their many shades of purple are so beautiful.
I would love a sage green with white moulding.
