Welcome to Magazine Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I spent most of Saturday making cards for our April Card Group later that evening. Even though I try my best to be proactive, I’m sort of known for my procrastinating tendencies. But why do something today when there’s always tomorrow, right?
This month our card theme was taken directly from the pages of our spring-infused March/April 2010 issue. From the minute we concepted our Lovely as a Tree feature, I knew I was in love. And with all the fun product available, who wouldn’t want make cards with bright, happy trees on them?

After we swapped these lovely cards, we sat down to make headbands, barrettes, pins and earrings from some fun embellishments from Creative Charms. I made this headband and barrette from their Vintage Velvet Poppies:

When picking a prop to display these purple beauties, I just had to go with a lovely tree!
We had so much fun with our embellies and hot glue guns! I had everyone bring a headband or two and then I supplied the plain barrettes, pins and earring posts, which I found in the jewelry aisle at JoAnn’s. If you’re looking for an easy project that doesn’t take a lot of time or preparation, this is it!
And it just so happens that I have a leftover set of Vintage Pearl Brads that we made into earrings. I also have an extra set of tree cards. Leave a comment telling me your favorite tree card from above and one lucky person will win all 10 cards, plus everything they need to make two pairs of earrings. All comments must be received by midnight (MDT) on Tuesday, April 20.
Happy Monday!
Kelly

My favorite card is the one with the owl on the swing. I love tree images and winning a set of these cards would be such a delight! Thanks for the chance to win.
Brady’s card with the cute tree patterned paper and the little button tree is my fave. Cute and simple.
And Happy Birthday Susan!
Oh my gosh—I read your entry too quickly, I guess. I read: we made our husbands barrettes instead of we made headbands, barrettes…
I guess I need to slow down…the story of my life.
Ooooh, love all the cards but I especially like the BIG tree with the button and twine on it. Love it’s simplicity! Thanks for the chance to win!
I think the heart tree with the zig-zag grass is super adorable!
I love them all, but especially the “swingin” owl card. He is so cute!

My favorite is the tree in the upper right of the 2nd collage. I like the heart-shaped leaves. I’m our family’s genealogist/historian and I like to include trees in my cards and gifts to family. Thanks for the inspiration!
heart tree-LOVE it:) thanks for sharing, kelly!
I like the pink & orange bird in the flourish tree. Hot and cool at the same time.
This is hard! It is a tie for me between the adorable owl swinging from the tree and the “hearts” tree(sheltering tree). Thanks for a chance to win a great prize.
I really like the “I Tweet You’r Sweet” card. Nice and simple, but adorable!
The owl sit on that tree swing is such a hoot that it’s my favorite card. Please pick me!!!!
I adore the heart tree with the stitching for grass! So cute!
Awww, so cute they all are, but I fell in love with Becky’s Friendship sheltering tree card. There’s so much versatility just by changing the color of the hearts, and I adore the sentiment.
i like the card by brady! clean & simple! thanks for the chance!
Friendship is a sheltering tree! Love the stitched grass and the hearts in the tree, and what a great quote! Charming!
I like that cute little HI card with all the houses!
I like the friendship card. The sentiment and picture go together beautifully.
My favorite is the heart tree card-just too darn cute!!
These cards are all so adorable! But, I am really in love with the card featuring the owl on a swing! How cute! Thanks for an oppty to win some bling! Happy Tuesday!
The tree with the ‘heart’ leaves is my favorite (Becky’s?). They are all really great, though – it was hard to choose a ‘favorite’!
I love the Sheltering Tree quote with the hearts hanging on the tree as leaves….very effective with that quote!
