My blog’s name is Paper HUGS and Stamped KISSES, so you can imagine that I’m a big fan of both!
I heard that this Friday is National Hug Holiday…how FUN is that?! And like peanut butter and jelly, hugs and kisses just go together. So today I thought I’d share some “kissed” cards. I’m talking about the super fabulous stamp technique, of course! This is when you press one inked stamp onto another and create a beautiful look on your paper.
Here are some variations:
1. Ink a solid stamp with one colored ink and ink a patterned stamp with a different color. Press one into the other and then press one (or both) stamps onto paper. Magically, the image has a pattern on it!
2. Ink a solid stamp and press into a patterned stamp (such as a polka dot), but this time do not ink the patterned stamp. Essentially, you are removing some of the ink and the end result is totally different then when you used two different inks.
3. Try this technique with different types of ink. Pigment/chalk inks will give you more even coverage, while a dye- based ink may result in a watercolor look. Both produce a cool effect!
4. Keep in mind that clear and rubber stamps stamp differently at times, so always experiment on scrap paper first.

I inked a houndstooth stamp and then inked a solid border pattern with brown ink. I then pressed the border onto the pink-inked houndstooth stamp and pressed the cream paper onto the houndstooth stamp. The border shows up in a stunning, subtle way! I inked the solid deer image with brown ink and the woodgrain in pink. I then kissed them together and pressed the woodgrain stamp onto cream paper.

The close-up shows:
1. I pressed an orange-inked polka dot pattern onto a yellow-inked solid sun.
2. I pressed a blue-inked flower onto a blue-inked solid bird.
3. I pressed an un-inked multi pattern onto a green-inked solid branch.
4. I used a black stamp pen to ink the cloud outline.
Run, don’t walk to your stamps to find solids and patterns…then, start kissing! To inspire you, I’ve got some goodies that are just waiting to be kissed! Leave a comment and one lucky person will take home Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Paper – Sending Love Specialty, I {Heart} Hearts stamp set and three clear blocks (sizes A, B and C). All comments must be received by midnight (MDT) on Thursday, June 10.

One lucky person will take home this prize package from Stampin' Up!
