Jennifer Schaerer

As the keeper of all secrets around here, I’ve got another one for you.

Pssst…lean in. You’re not going to believe this, but it’s the first day of June today. June! Summer! School’s almost out! Yippee!

If that made your head spin, just wait until you learn about all the obscure occasions celebrated on June 1:

Early Bird Day – take advantage and get that worm!

Flip a Coin Day – heads I win, tails you lose (hee hee!)

Frozen Yogurt Day – the healthier choice, and full of flavor too!

Hazelnut Cake Day – with chocolate frosting, please

In addition to being Helen Keller Day, it’s also International Children’s Day – so give the kids in your life a little extra love today.

But my hands-down favorite for today is National Double Dare Day. Not just a dare, but a DOUBLE dare.

And I not only double dare you, I double-DOG-dare you to take on a new card-making technique today: misting!

To help you get there, I found some fun stuff in our blog prize cabinet from our friends at Tattered Angels:

The stamps coordinate with the glimmer screens, and there are even three different colors of glimmer mists! Don’t miss the Tattered Angels gallery for loads of inspirational projects.

Great news – I found THREE SETS to give away today! I want to hear the most daring thing you’ve ever done, or a dare you issued to someone else. Even if you just joined in an adolescent game of Truth or Dare, tell me all about it. Leave me a comment by midnight (MDT) on Wednesday, June 2 and I’ll pick three winners to take up my glimmer misting dare with this prize package.

Double daring you to have a terrific day,
Jennifer

One of the most daring things I have ever done is to start my own business! 7 years later and things are going well, even in a tough economy! I am so glad that I did it and took a chance! Thanks for the great giveaway!

  2. The most daring thing I have ever done is become engaged after dating only a month. We just had our 23rd anniversary, I am super glad I wasn’t timid and afraid for that one moment he asked and I said yes!

My most daring step has been following my career across the country. Originally from Missouri, I have been relocated to Florida and New York so far. My supportive husband is in it for the long haul and makes our moves successful. Thanks for this challenge…the stories are great.

My most daring step was to get married a second time…really, so scarey, but it turned out mag-nif-ico…LOL….love ya honey!!

Fabulous giveaway! The most daring thing I’ve done is travel down into the Grand Canyon on a mule! I only found out at the bottom how dangerous it really was after I heard all the stories! Then I had to get on the mule to get back out! Ha!

The most daring thing I can remember doing was going back to take horseback riding lessons despite being terrified from two bad falls. It’s my third year back and now I’m galloping again and having a ball!

I was dared to make prank phone calls when I was 7 or 8. I was a good girl so that was a big deal. I made them and I think the people actually thought we were cute and humoured us. I had a friend who could play piano and a toy piano and she played Hawaiian music while I told people they had won a trip to Hawaii. I remember thinking they believed us but I can only Imagine how bad the music must have sounded and how high our childish voices were so for me to think they’d been fooled, they MUST have thought it was funny and humoured us!

I think the most daring thing I have ever done (my mother would call it reckless) was climb up the rickety, dilapidated fire escape ladder after I locked myself out of the house. You see, my husband was out of the country and I was 7 months pregnant and HUGE. Oh yeah, as if it wasn’t scary enough the first time, I had to climb down and back up with a tool to pry the window open halfway and squeeze my pregnant belly through.
