Welcome to Magazine Monday! Today we’re kicking off round 3 in our exciting Gallery Idol competition. The Top 10 finalists were only given three days to create their unique ribbon cards for this week’s round of voting. Much like last year’s Round 3 theme of buttons, I hope to see some creative, “out of the box” applications of this fun product.
With this week’s special theme, I thought I would spotlight some of the cards from A Few of Your Favorite Things feature in our July/August 2010 issue. In addition to pretty ribbon and trim, this feature is also about beautiful buttons and bold brads. Hence the title…A Few of Your Favorite Things! I can’t wait to see if the Top 10 sticks with a “tried and true” approach or surprises us with something truly original!

Top 20 finalist Alicia Thelin made her ribbon soar in her Ribbon Butterflies Card (p. 71).

Kelly Marie Alvarez created a fun pattern in her Plaid Ribbon Happy Birthday Card (p. 72).

And Heidi Van Laar combined two of my favorite things (buttons & brads) in her Hi There! Card (p. 73).
Amazing ribbon cards, right? Once noon (MDT) rolls around, make sure you visit our Gallery Idol contest page to view the Top 10′s ribbon entries and to cast your vote. If you haven’t already registered to vote, please click HERE and follow these three simple steps:
1. You’ll need to register with the contest tool to vote, so first go to the “Registration” tab.
2. Once you’ve registered, then click on the “View Entries” tab.
3. Once you select your favorite card, click on the “Vote” tab. (Make sure you’re really sure because you’re only allowed one vote per voting round!)
Voting for round 3 will end at noon (MDT) on Thursday, June 24. The results will be tallied shortly after and the Top 5 will be announced right here on Friday!
Happy Monday!
Kelly
P.S. There’s still time to participate in our Go-to Sketch Challenge #4! Featuring a fun sketch from Paper Crafts Go-to Gal Kim Hughes, this two-week challenge will run through midnight (MDT) on Monday, June 28. Click HERE for all the details!
P.P.S. It’s time to announce the winners from my Gallery Idol Top 10 post:

Love those ribbon butterflies. So clever! Would never have thought of that. And kudos to the ribbon weaver for doing such a terrific job. It’s a lot harder than it looks.
