Welcome to Magazine Monday and day one of our exciting Card Style Week both here and on Moxie Fab World!
As you can imagine, we see a lot of paper crafted projects around here. A LOT. I don’t have the average down to an exact decimal point, but I’d say we see between 1500 and 2000 project submissions for our larger special issues and around 1000 for our regular issues and smaller special issues. That’s a pretty wide range of color combinations, types of projects and styles to review for publication.
We’ve always tried to balance the projects in our issues between the styles you say you like most, which we determine based on reader survey results and comments on our blogs and Facebook fan page. It’s important to us that we inspire you with a good mix of everything out there, so we’re sure to select plenty of fun & cute and clean & graphic, with just enough shabby chic & vintage and classy & elegant to keep everyone happy.
One day last fall, we sat around our conference room table and chatted about the different styles in card making and what really defines each one. Voila! Card Style was born, and we have been keeping this little secret ever since.

Between now and July 25, get free shipping on Card Style (when you spend $25 or more) in our online store! Click on the image above to reserve your copy today!
So, I’d like to know: are you fun & cute? Maybe more clean & graphic? A bit classy & elegant? Or do you like the charm of shabby chic & vintage? Could you have days when you are a little bit of all these styles?
Take this quick little quiz and see where you land.

I’m C-D: Classy chic and Definitely elegant!
-
I got mostly B’s in the quiz, which is a bit weird because I think my cards look more like D – Classy and Elegant!! Never mind – maybe getting my hands on a copy of CardStyle will help me find my style OR develop new ones!
-
What a hoot to take the quiz, you know sometimes I’m a A and then sometimes a B, does that mean I have a split card personality??
-
I mostly am a C, with a bit of A thrown in to keep it fun!
-
Thanks for this fun quiz. I think my card style changes from card to card, and depends on who the card is for, as I am sure most card makers would find. However, as my quiz answers show, I LOVE shabby chic and vintage look cards (and everything else for that matter!)
Can’t wait to see the great new Card Style magazine. -
I love today’s blog. I am classy and elegant and determined to learn how to do the rest. So fun!
-
LOL, i had 2 b’s 2 c’s & 1 a!! so what does THAT mean?! haha, i guess i’m all over the place – i just love ALL styles. whatever seems to fit my mood as i sit at my craft desk is what i’ll create. is that a good thing? i like to think so! sometimes i wish i was more streamlined & had a particular style but i’m happy with what turns out so that’s good enough for me. thanks for the chance to win this fabulous issue – i would LOVE to have it. the cover alone inspires me!!!
-
I’m mostly d’s with a little bit of whimsy. But I like all the styles! Maybe I need some direction.
-
Hi Jennifer! I got mostly C’s, with a couple of B’s…how do you make clean & simple shabby chic?? No wonder I have trouble with design

Thanks for a chance to win that new issue…maybe it will help! -
I had a tough time identifying my style with the quiz. I ended up with more “C”s – but in looking at the cards, I think I’d fall more into the “B”s or “D”s. Or maybe it’s because I aim for fancier styles every time, when in reality I prefer the clean, simple and elegant designs I see on the web?
-
I’m somewhere between clean and simple and fun and cute. Depends on who its for.
-
When I got to question 5, I was tied with two responses each for a and c. So how did I answer the tiebreaker? With b… go figure. Guess that’s what keeps life interesting.
-
Clean and simple here…fingers crossed for a copy of the magazine!
-
I have trouble figuring out how to layer paper. I’m worried it will be too fussy.
-
I am a toss between fun and cute and classy and elegant…it depends on the occasion for the card and the mood i am in. Also what type of supplies i am using. If i am using the cricut and cutting out critters, then it would be fun and cute. But if I am using lace and pearls, then classy and elegant.
-
Almost all Bs. Go figure.
-
My style is fun /elegant!
