I’m one of those crafters who likes to keep it simple. Sure, lots of crafters like to experiment and get messy and go all out, but I’m not one of them. Fast, easy and pretty are the name of the game for me! Are any of you with me on that?

At the end of every issue of our magazine, there’s this nifty little time-saving device called Simple Sentiments. Now, I’ve watched people page through our magazine (yes, it’s really quite thrilling!), and invariably, they whip right past this page! Oh, no! Skipping that page is like throwing away precious time. These sentiments are downloadable for free. Yes! FREE DOWNLOADS! And the people rejoiced! Take a look at these snazzy sentiments featured in the September/October 2010 issue.

Quick. Easy. AWESOME!

One great way to use these sentiments is for a quick card. Just add patterned paper, ribbon and bling, and you’ve created a masterpiece in no time flat!

Now what about your child’s annual school Halloween party? Couldn’t you make some totally cute treat toppers with one of these? And then there’s that Twilight-inspired invitation that could make your party-goers howl with delight! The possibilities are pretty much endless. I did say they were FREE, didn’t I?

And here’s what’s even better. These Simple Sentiments don’t disappear once the new issue arrives – they’ll be waiting patiently for you whenever the mood strikes. You can head online right now and find many more Simple Sentiments from previous magazines and special issues.

Here’s your challenge…browse our library of Simple Sentiments and make a card using one and then upload them to our online gallery HERE. Kelly and I will rustle up a prize for three Simple Sentiment-using winners! You’ve got one week, so upload them up by midnight (MDT) on Monday, August 23.

By the way, I’d love to know which one of these September/October sentiments is your favorite, and how do you see yourself using it?

Susan

P.S. We wanted to right a boo-boo we made in the September/October issue…This card (found on p. 38) was wrongly attributed in the magazine. The designer of this card is Charity Hassel. Sorry, Charity!

Downloadable! This is very exciting news. And the people rejoiced for sure. Every month I dutifully add the Simple Sentiments page to my binder. Guess how I’ll be saving them now. My favorite sentiment from above, the “When Witches Go Riding” poem. When I was still a children’s librarian I used that poem in our Halloween Storytimes. :-)

The Trick or Treat with the pumpkin is my favorite. However, we don’t do much for Halloween here in France!
