Magazine Monday – Buttons, Brads and Bella!

pcmp kelly5 246x300 Magazine Monday Buttons, Brads and Bella!

P. Kelly Smith

Welcome to Magazine Monday! This past Saturday, my card group peeps and I met at Jennifer’s house to swap cards, craft, chat and eat. It actually went more like this: eat, chat, swap…eat, chat, craft…eat, chat, eat. But at least we’re consistent and managed to begin and finish the night with the all-important party ingredient: food!

This month our card theme was taken directly from the pages of our July/August issue. The Few of My Favorite Things feature was all about buttons, brads and ribbon. Since buttons and brads are a few of my favorite things, I asked everyone to incorporate these fun embellishments into birthday cards.

After we swapped these cute birthday cards (and snacked a little more), we sat down to craft (and chat some more). Our instructor, Ms. Schaerer, did a great job in explaining our project: Paper Crafts’ CHA make-n-take kit. Thanks to Go-to Gal Jessica Witty for designing these super fun cards!

Bella Blvd’s Stephanie Hunt and Robin Huber had planned on joining us, but sadly another commitment came up. Luckily they still sent along their cute cards to be swapped and three prize packages for our loyal blog readers! Leave a comment telling me your favorite party snack food and three winners will win Stephanie’s Sunny Happy Skies collection and one of her cards (seen above). All comments must be received by midnight (MDT) on Tuesday, Aug. 31.

Chips and Tastefully Simple has this awesome dip, Warm the Oven, of which they are sadly discontinuing (I stocked up!) would probably top the list. But I have to have a sweet too, so anything sweet will do for that!

  45. Kelly Sas says:

My favorite crafting snack doesn’t have a name. It is a mixture of: Gumi Bears, M&M’s (I prefer plain, but you can do peanut) and salted peanuts. Yes, I know it sounds weird but the chocolate with the salty and the sweet gumi’s is a perfect flavor mix!
