As the keeper of the trends here at Paper Crafts magazine, I’m back from CHA, I’ve had a chance to process and let everything I saw settle down into all my nooks and crannies, and I’m excited to bring you my bi-annual Trends by the Dozen report, friends.
These are the things that, as Susan and I walked the showroom floor, tended to start popping up everywhere. We’d see one or two of the same type of product here, then over there, and pretty soon they started adding up to bona fide trends.
So here they are, in living color. And while you don’t have to be trendy to be a paper crafter extraordinaire, sometimes it’s fun to know what products are hot so you can feel like you’re in the trendy loop.
1. Big Bling. Big box stores. Super-sized fast food. Jumbo packs. And big bling for paper crafters:

Products from Pink Paislee, Teresa Collins Designs, Bazzill Basics Paper, and Tim Holtz Idea-ology
2. Plastic Flower Embellishments. Straight from a by-gone day:

Five lucky winners will each win one of these collections from BasicGrey!
I love it when trends come by the dozen,

I’m loving the plastic flower embellishments- can’t wait to get my hands on some of them!!
Love a lot of the trends – I’m a big bling fan, have joined the hot air balloon craze as well botanicals. Not a huge fan of lace (which is odd as I love lace on clothes). And, oooh la la, viva la Paris! Not so sure about kitchen/home trend, but looks interesting.
Love the canvas stuff. It’s a great way to add dimension and texture to any paper craft.
I kinda like the kitchen stuff. Not sure why…but it does stick out to me. Of course the bling is fun too!
I love the lace and doilies!! Reminds me of my sweet grandmother!
These trendies are so cool… I love them ALL!!!
The cabbage rolls are my favorite. I also love BG paper! WOW
~WOW~
I love the hot air balloons, they just make me feel so free and happy!! thanks for the great give away!
I LOVE hot air balloons…….! I am excited to see them as a trend. Now …..to decorate!
The love the french designs. Anything with a flourish on it I have to have it.
I love the “French Influences” trend because it is so classy! Mix in a little vintage (or a lot!) and it is even classier! I also love the simple lines and retro colors in the “Kitchen/Domestic” trend.
Such wonderful goodies–I love them all–guess I’d say my favorite is #2–those gorgeous flowers!!
Being into heritage, I love the doilies and lace on paper
Oooh what a feast of beautiful trends for me to ogle over! I have to say I love the Baker’s Twine – such a sweet addition to any project in my book!
Hugs,
Aimes

I love the “mistables” trend! These fun products give me additional pretties to spray with all my lovely colours of mist :O)
I sound as bad as my kids. I have a severe case of the gimmie’s. I need everything. I love the bakers twine. I see it everywhere so that is definitely on my list. I do have to say the the hot air balloons are also a must have since we just celebrated the Hall of Fame Football festivities here in Ohio and we have several hot air balloon pictures that I need to scrap.
I love, love, love the cabbage roses. I have always been a shabby chic kind of girl and this trend is right up my alley and quite frequently used!
Oooh, I love them all but my favorite is the plastic flower embellishments – can’t wait to get some of those!!!
I am loving the baker’s twine. Wow! I need some of that!
Guess I’m an old-fashioned girl. I love the lace on paper
OHHH LA LA!!! It’s the new exciting BOTANICAL lines that are floating my boat!! The oh so close to nature colors and the gorgeous flora and fauna just touch my heart with inspiration. How exciting to add in the resin embellishments along with ribbons and flowers! WONDERFUL!!!
I say “Oui” to French Influences for sure. I love everything French, from 18th century ladies with big hair and ruffles to touring Paris to anything involving fashion. It’s all so pretty and fashionable. There are endless options… chandeliers, botanicals, even the hot air balloons! It all fits. It’s the perfect chic and sometimes shabby way to create.
I love those buttons! Very very cute!
I love lace and ribbons, always have and I guess at my age I always will.
Blessings Bernie
The cabbage roses!!! I don’t know what it is about them, but they’re so captivating. I saw a great big bunch when I was in Japan a few years back. They were just so intriguing!
Love them all. The hot air baloons are fav because they are such a “happy” image
I love the canvas!!! It’s got a beautiful roughness going on. Can’t wait to get my hands on some!
I’m lovin’ the hot air balloons trend! Just looking at them makes me SMILE!
The bakers twine is my all time favorite. We finally have a store here in Hawaii that is carrying in now. Yipee!!!
Love the BIG BLING!!!!!!!Anything that sparkles! Next choice would be the Lace.
The doilies stood out for me as they would be very eligant on layouts. Thanks for sharing all these new items.
I love the Baker’s Twine! I’ve got a huge spool of aqua in my craft room making me happy!
My favorite is the twine! I have some ordered and can’t wait for it to arrive!
botanicals; I have a bird and I love to incorporate “natural” inspiration into my work.
Well I’ve been influenced by my friend Jacqueline in France for years, so I think I’ll go with French influences….and I find Baker’s Twine a charming way to “tie” together a design.
Oh I just love ALL of them, but if I have to pick but if I have to it will have to be the retro kitchen trends. I am in the middle of working on some recipes boxes for Xmas and that product would be perfect for some of the embellishments. TFS and good luck to all.
Can’t get enough of the “new” trends!
I love the Lace on Paper. Probably because I loved watching my grandmother making her own lace from an early age. Anything lacy always reminds me of her.
I love the hot air balloons! I’ve always loved them and now they’re trendy, yeah!
Love the balloons. I have always wanted to go up in one.
I love it all…I don’t think of myself as being trendy…but if this was a test…I guess I am! I think the Doilies, Mist-ables and canvas are my faves. I guess like everyone else…I’m looking for something different.
Love the mist-ables- just so versatile to create any look
Oh wow . . . I’m loving the cabbage roses and the mists!!
I’m definitely late to the hot air balloon party but I adore what you showcased here! Can’t wait to get a closer look at some of those new goodies!
Cabbage roses… my garden is full of them. To me they are the ultimate definition of perfection! How can you not love Eden Rose 85…
I love all 12- but mostly the big bling and doilies as I am a vintage artist- also these kind can be found at home too- not only in scrap shop- but the scrap are better looking
I like the stars under the “canvas” trend but otherwise, none of these appeal to me. Everything is too “girly” and I really only scrap for boys (son, nephew, oh and a tomboy niece).
Anything botanical is going to get me. I just love every sample you have in that collage!
The Bakers Twine is what keeps my boat afloat! (I am having trouble getting my comments to show up so I apologize if I have created multiple entries)
The Baker’s Twine is definitely what keeps my boat afloat!
The bling, the plastic roses and the doilies are my fav oh and also the mists and all the mistable items out there. I’m going to be in sooooooo much trouble this season but then again I always am!!!!
