Today’s the day!
Our November/December 2010 issue is available on newsstands, so now your holiday crafting can commence with fervor!
At the end of each and every magazine issue, you’ll find our Get Inspired column. Writing it is one of my favorite things that I do! I just love brainstorming with the editorial team what sort of item to choose for one designer to be inspired by. That final project on the last page is the icing on the cake at the end of every issue!
In the November/December issue we chose a clock in honor of the end of another calendar year, and designer Alicia Thelin had a great time searching for a clock that got her creative juices flowing. The clock she chose inspired her (in her words), “with its colors (especially considering the time of year), the bird, and the tiny flowers look like poinsettias.”

Alicia's inspiration piece
Once the clock made it to her house (she bought it on Etsy), Alicia went to town creating her card. You can see that the colors, the bird, the clock hands, and even the sentiment say clock. I love how her luscious bow mimics the silver of the alarm bells. Tres magnifique!

Alicia’s Time Flies Card is featured in the magazine on p. 90.
Now what you DON’T know is that Alicia was so inspired that she actually created another project! Pictured below is a coordinating tag hanger.

Each themed pocket addresses a different New Years goal.
Alicia designed the pocket tags to hold multiple cards to create multiple goals for an individual or one for each member of the family. This is something that can be left out all the year through as a reminder. In addition, it can be used year after year by refilling the goal cards. How cool is that?
It just goes to show that a good bit of inspiration can take you a long way! What are some goals you have for the coming year? Let’s hear it!

P.S. Speaking of time, those wanting to submit cards to our 2010 World Card Making Day Card Contest
…the deadline is TODAY! Whether you’re mailing in one card or 10, make sure your entries are postmarked with today’s date. Those mailed in after today’s deadline will not be eligible.

I sent my cards in last week!
I hope they make it there safe and sound!
I got my issue yesterday and love it!!! This clock and Alicia’s projects are beautiful!!!
My goal for the next year: better eating habits! Love the tag hanger!
Can’t wait for mine to get here-maybe today.
This issue is ROCKING
Love these tags really awesome.
Absolutely stunning. I just got my issue and I can’t wait to read it until it is dog-eared!
I had sooooo much fun with this! Thanks for the mention Miss Susan!
Great inspiration piece! And this ensemble by Alicia is beautiful and very inspiring!
alicia’s tag pocket idea is just awesome!
I love the tag hanger idea! Really creative, and just a good idea. My goal is to become more organized in my papercrafting, during the process and keeping my supplies neat . I love the tips from the go to gals in this issue by the way. They’re helping!
I like the pocket tag idea. And I really like the holly card on the front of the magazine!
Love this issue.
I have two major goals for the upcoming year.
One, to get my daughter settled into the college of her dreams, Brown.
Two, to be well, to work hard at getting better (from my back injuries).
To be well and to see your baby happy, pretty basic stuff.
Haven’t seen my copy yet~I run out to the mail box every time the white truck goes by
) Love Alicia’s card and pretty inspiration clock.
The new issue has so much eye candy! Alicia’s card is gorgeous! One of my resolutions is to get back to taking daily pics & scrappin’ them.
I could have sworn there was mention of this Nov/Dec issue being bundled with a free Unity stamp, but I can’t find that post. Drove to two stores today (Wal-mart and Borders). Both stores had the new issue, but no stamp. I was looking forward to trying Unity stamps, and perhaps subscribing to Paper Crafts, but am disappointed now. Did I imagine I saw this?

I found the post I was looking for. It was on the Unity website.
