We recently received a question from one of our Facebook friends, Cheryl Hammac. She asked, “Do you all crop together outside of work?” Well Cheryl, not only do many of us crop together outside of work but we also get together every other Friday afternoon for our craft time, Creative Recess.
We each take turns sharing and teaching about new products, tools and techniques. This past week Susan Opel, our in-house expert and former teacher, taught us the ins and outs of the Martha Stewart Crafts Scoring Board.

Our Teacher, Miss Opel!
This has quickly become one of my favorite must-have tools when creating projects. I had no idea how simple it would be to create a box out of a flat sheet of cardstock! I just followed the instructions on the inside of the scoring board tool and poof…a gift box! I even managed to create a stack of boxes that afternoon. I also love the embossed designs on cardstock and the crisp folded edges you can make using the scoring board. It makes everything look so clean and professionally done.

Hey Mom, look what I made!
Everyone had a great time learning and creating fun boxes, tags and cards.

Creative juices are flowing.

The finished boxes!
It was great to get together to share ideas. Here are our finished projects:

Our final projects from Creative Recess
What are you all waiting for! It’s time to get started on your holiday projects. And to help out, I have one Martha Stewart Crafts Scoring Board that I’m itching to give away. Since I’ve shared with you one of my favorite tools, I’d love to hear your comments on the latest technique or favorite tool you’ve used that has become part of your crafting arsenal. I’ll draw a random winner and the scoring board will be yours just in time for those holiday projects. All comments must be received by midnight (MST) on Wednesday, Nov. 24.
Happy crafting!
Kerri
P.S. If you just can’t wait for the drawing results on Thursday, you can nab your very own Martha Stewart Crafts Scoring Board HERE.

One of my indispensable tools is the crop-o-dile. I don’t know how I got along without it!
I love my heat tool! Embossing and drying my cards so much faster (I’m impatient!).
I have to say that I love “ALL” my punches! I do have a Cuttlebug and a Big Shot (and love what they can do) but the punches are just sooooo convenient and quick!
I love my Cricut. There’s still so much to learn but I love adding to my scrapbook and cardmaking creativity.
I love my paper trimmer and will almost never complete a project without it. I would love to try the score board!
I use my adhesive tape gun for every project and scrap layout that I do. Couldn’t live without it.
I also have a Cricut and just recently bought an Expression. The cartridges are great and you can create just about anything you have in mind for your next project. I dont have a score board, so Martha’s would be a great present. Thank You for sharing!
Great boxes. My favorite tool is my Cricut. I love all the things it cuts out.
Besides the Cricut as my first-loved tool, I love using my MM paper trimmer. It has a self-sharpening blade. It cuts the paper straight too. It is a must-have tool when making cards. Thanks for a great giveaway!
My Cuttlebug is getting lots of use lately making holiday cards and goodies.
I have to say my Epic 6 gets alot of use for my card making! My arm is really getting toned up making my Christmas cards at the moment!
Thanks for the chance! I don’t have a score board and would love one!
Cool beans! I love these great boxes. You ladies are SO creative! I would be very happy to take that scoreboard off your hands.
Probably my big shot. I have been looking at the scoring board and would really like to have one.
Love all the pretty gifts! Great inspiration to get me started on wrapping…
Fav tool of the season? Easy! My stamps! I love them all. I can change them with different colours of ink or embossing powders to create cards, tags, embellies for LOs. Best investment of the season!
Happy Thanksgiving and thank-you for sharing!

My favorite tool right now is my Big Shot because I need it to run all my Papertrey Ink dies through! Their dies have quickly become my favorite.
Right now my Epic 6 is my favorite tool.
My favorite tool is my Cricut expression. I love it!
Lately I’m super excited about my Silhouette and my Copics. Didn’t think I’d ever have either one and am enjoying learning how to use them both!
I love the idea of Creative Recess! The new product I tried (that is not new to most but is new for me) are the Adirondack alcohol inks. Love the colors and have gotten great results on my cards!
Love my punches! The idea of Creative Recess sounds so fun!
my foam tool from tim holtz! i hate to color and that little gem is fabulous!
My first paper crafting tools were punches. I love the fact that I could create lots of little things so easily. I have hundreds of punches and that grew into a quickutz which to me is just a fancy paper punch! Happy Thanksgiving!!
Love the boxes ya’ll made. I did not realize that you could do so much with the score board. My favorite tool/technique is stamping with black ink and embossing with clear embossing powder.
Very fun and super cute!!!!!! My fav tool is my “Best Glue Ever”!!! I t is super strong And i can make my own glue dots from it! LOVE it, use it for all my papercrafting and embellie use!
I love my Tim Holtz ink applicator for alcohol and distress inks. Wow–such wonderful projects you all made! Would love to be part of your recess!!
I love my cuttlebug!! And boy would I be over the moon with a scoring board!! Thanks for the chance!

The tool I use most is the Cuttlebug. It’s just hard to make a card without it!!!
I just got the Sizzix Big Shot. Can’t wait to try it out with the embossing folders and the larger dies.
