Have you ever had the sensation of picking up an object and knowing you’d just found something that you were destined for?
Sounds cheesy, I know. But that is seriously how I felt the first time I stamped something! I didn’t know how, but at that moment I knew that creating and inspiring others to create was what I was meant to do.
I recall putting all of my extra time into learning new techniques, the proper balance of color and composition – I’d stay up until the wee hours of the night playing while my children were sleeping. And then the most wonderful thing happened! The rubber stamp company that I worked for gave me a position in their creative department! There I was, doing exactly what I was meant to do!
Having worked in the industry, I have been a long-time contributor to Paper Crafts and I love what the magazine has done for so many individuals, like me, who are passionate about their art. And let’s not forget the amazing ideas for all those who prefer to CASE rather than create from scratch.
I’m so thrilled that I can now contribute to this fabulous publication as an editor! What an amazing opportunity to share my passion with all of you! Speaking of sharing, here’s two cards I made recently. I hope you like them!

Off to create!

Great cards…now I have two more to use for inspiration!! TFS!!
GREAT cards! You’ve just described my fantasy, having a stamp company or mag ask me to come work for them. While I am working on making that happen like you did, I am going to try for that Stamping Royalty! Thanks!

Yeah I love it. I still do making the cards…I am a deaf woman. My hearing husband did not mind about Stamp Up shop..he he.
Swoon! Look at that prize package…I nearly fainted! I feel the same way about stamps you do…what a dream job. Thanks for posting your awesome cards and the contest. I’ll be entering for SURE!
Love those cards! They are just so HAPPY! Looking forward to hearing more from you!
What a fun, interesting journey you’ve had! And how fortunate to be able to do what you love. Thanks for sharing your story.
Enjoyed your story, and love your cards! I, too, was hooked on stamping after one try. Dooling over that prize package. So… off to my crafting table.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful story, it is a blessing to be able to work in the field you love! And your cards are beautiful, I sure do LIKE them!
Renae — Could you clarify for the contest whether one needs to submit a card for each category as I read in one contest description (To enter, create a stamped card in the following five categories: Birthday, Christmas/Season’s Greetings, Hello/Thinking of You, Love and Thank You) or as you’ve stated (Simply submit a stamped card in one of these five categories: Birthday, Christmas/Season’s Greetings, Hello/Thinking of You, Love or Thank You). Thanks so much–and so glad your creativity is coming to the forefront now that you’ve been “discovered.”
Maryann, feel free to submit as many cards to as many categories as you want. If you read through the contest description is says, “Multiple entries in one category are permitted. We will award three (3) winning cards per category. You can win in more than one category, but will receive only one prize package.”
Hope that clears up any confusion!
Good luck!
