P. Kelly Smith

Welcome to Freebie Friday! I hope everyone is off to a great start in 2011. Anyone made and broken their resolutions already? That’s okay…here’s one resolution that will be easy to keep: joining us for Color Inspiration for Card Makers Week!

Beginning Monday, we’ll be spotlighting our latest special issue, Color Inspiration for Card Makers. This magazine features 280 card ideas from 70 fresh and inspiring color combinations. Gravitate towards certain hues? No problem. The cards are divided into six sensational sections: bright & bold, jewel tones, metallics, neutrals, monochromatics and pastels.

In addition to all the fun we’ll be having here, we’re partnering with Trends Editor, Cath Edvalson and her Moxie Fab World blog. Between the two sites, we’ll be spotlighting projects, hosting some fun color challenges and giving away some spectacular prizes!

Color allows moods and feelings to come through on a card, an outfit, and in a room. I totally love the royal blue and hot pink color combos on the magazine cover – I’ve actually been trying to convince my sister to use it in her wedding bouquet! I love using interesting color combos and having pops of color on a card to celebrate events! I’m always looking for more inspiration and would love to get my hands on a copy of the magazine :)

Cute cards. i esp. like the “love you” one. great use of color! Color inspires me -makes me happy. I have always loved lots of color from early crafting days of making crepe paper flowers… cross stitching, tole painting, and now card making & scrapbooking. i love all of the colors and textures that i get to play with when i create!
