Welcome to Freebie Friday! How many of you like to stamp? I assume most of you are enthusiastically nodding your heads. Now how many of you would like to break out of your comfortable stamping routine and try something new, something adventurous or dare I say…something even a little bit scary?
If you’re still nodding, then you must join us for Stamp It! Techniques Week!
Next week, we’ll be spotlighting our latest special issue, Stamp It! Techniques. Divided into six fun sections, it features six hot techniques: masking, embossing, paper piecing, spectrum stamping and creative ways to use markers and spray inks.
Our exciting promotion will begin on Monday on the Moxie Fab World blog. Then on Wednesday, Betsy Veldman will kick things off right here with her Groovin’ with the Go-to Gals post. Between the two sites, we’ll be spotlighting projects, hosting some fun technique challenges and giving away some spectacular stamping prizes!
Today I thought I would spotlight projects from three different sections:

Paper Piecing: Hello Friend Box by Michele Hetland

Spectrum Stamping: Teacher Note Holder by Andrea Vernagus

Masking: Spooky Sweets Treat Bags by Kelley Eubanks
- Leave a comment telling me which stamping technique is your favorite and why. I’ll pick one lucky winner to take home a copy of Stamp It! Techniques, all three projects featured above and Papertrey Ink’s Background Basics: Text Style stamp set – the same set Kelley used on her Spooky Sweets Treat Bags. All comments must be received by midnight (MST) on Sunday, Feb. 13.
- Happy Friday!
Kelly
- P.S. We’re still accepting entries for our February Gallery Challenge! Upload your Valentine’s Day treat containers, wraps, tags, etc. by Monday, Feb. 21 and you could win a free 1-year subscription or special issue of your choice!

I enjoy heat embossing and dry embossing.
My favorite technique is masking–especially loved the treat bags. With all the new spray inks and glimmer mists the possibilities are endless.
I like masking and monotone ink stamping to make a backgroud on plain cardstock.
I really like all 3 but my favorite is definitely the paper piecing! I love putting the pieces of the “puzzle” together and enjoying the finished product on a card or scrapbook!
They are all great, but I love the spectrum/gradient stamping!
Paper piecing! Who can resist using patterned paper to cut and layer.
I like masking! I think it’s so fun to be able to layer the stamps, color around them, etc. And then when you take the mask off, it’s a bit of a surprise to see what it all looks like together!
My favorite of these three techniques is the paper piecing. It is so fun to mix and match your stamped piece that way.
Wonderful techniques! Love the masking look!
I love all things masking!
I really love embossing and dry embossing. The added dimension is so fun!! Masking is something I am now getting more into as well. Thanks for the chance to win!
My favorite is paper piecing. One neat way to coordinate colors
and patterns, and also use up scraps of paper. Thanks for the chance! Diane H.
I have not tried the spectrum stamping but it looks like fun and seems easy.
I love paper piecing because paper dolls were always a fav when I was young!! Can’t wait to see this issue!
I would love a copy of this magazine for the great card ideas and to show me different ways to use my stamps! I have stamps, but am pretty straight ahead when using them. I need some ideas to make the most of them.
Oh, I just found your blog and love everything here! Where have you (I) been hiding??? LOL These three projects are all awesome but my favorite is the hello friend box. Such a cute little gifty idea. Thank you so much for your inspiration.
I would have to say that the paper piecing is my fave… I love the way you can take different items and piece them together to make something 3 dimensional and totally beautiful out of it.
I love all stamping techniques, but use paper piecing the most =)
I enjoy the challenge of Masking! It’s fun to stamp several layers on one sheet resulting in great dimension and depth with out the bulk. I like the SMOKY SPOOKY appearance of the Spooky Sweets Treat Bags, plays into the eerie Halloween energy. Looking forward to tuning in Monday, See ya then.
I love masking… adds a whole new dimension to my projects.
