Welcome to Freebie Friday and our last day of Stamp It! Techniques Week! We hope you’ve enjoyed this sneak peek of our new special issue, Stamp It! Techniques
and have been inspired to:
1. Ink up your stamps and have fun playing with some new techniques.
2. Submit to our current call for submissions, as well as our 2011 Stamping Royalty Card Contest.
3. Snatch up every copy of Stamp It! Techniques you can find and share them with all your crafty friends and family.
Today I’m taking you inside the pages of Stamp It! Techniques and showing you the step-out photos to two very technique-y projects. First is Vanessa Menhorn’sVintage Medallion Card from the Haute Heat Embossing section:

Step-out 1: Stamp Rose Background on oval; color with ink.

Step-out 2: Ink edges and apply ultra thick embossing powder; emboss and let cool.

Step-out 3: Crack piece by slightly bending edges.
Who knew heat embossing could do this? Go Vanessa! Next is Valerie Mangan’s I Owe You Tag from the Sensational Shimmer Sprays section. I love how Valerie took the clock theme and ran with it. From the spritzed background to the focal point to the sentiment, she “timed” this one perfectly.

Step-out 1: Ink cardstock tag with dye ink; spritz with shimmer spray.

Step-out 2: Wet large clock stamp with water and stamp on tag. Repeat with large clock and number border.

Step-out 3: Dry tag with heat tool and spritz with shimmer spray.
Want to try these fun techniques? Well, I just happen to have a whole box of props leftover from our photo shoot. Leave a comment telling me what stamping techniques you would like to see in our next edition of Stamp It! Techniques. I’ll pick one random winner to receive THIS WHOLE BOX. All comments must be received by midnight (MST) on Sunday, February 20.

One lucky winner will take home this stamptastic prize package!
Happy Friday!
Kelly

Oh my gosh, I’d love to win this package. I want to learn about inks but right now just don’t have the money to get started beyond one coffee color distressed ink. That would be a wonderful way to recouperate after my back surgery on Feb 7th (as long as I don’t bend or lean over)!! Who ever wins will be very lucky.
What a great prize!! i have the new technique magazine & it is wonderful! I am constantly looking at it & have tried a lot of new things, (to me!), already. I would lioke to see more about distressing cardstock & making distressed ribbon flowers. Thanks for a great mag!
I’d love to see more sponging! For what seems to be a simple technique, I have more trouble with getting it “just so”!

Wow! This is a terrific prize package. I’d love to see more techniques combining inks and spritzs. I love to work with inks but sometimes I feel that I ran out of ideas.
I am not sure if this is exactly a technique, but I think it would be great if the magazine would show how to use the same stamp in multiple ways.
I’d love to learn more about how the different inks can be used. I’ve experimented with chalk, dye and pigment but the different brands seem to behave differently. I’m not sure how to pick the best one for the effect I’m trying to get.
