Sneak Peek of our March/April Issue

Kerri Miller

I’m calling it the “B” issue but you may refer to it as our March/April issue.

It’s filled with all things “B” – Babies, Brides, Birthdays and Balloons.

There is also a “BONUS” section featuring the 2010 World Card Making Day Card Contest winners. (I might be stretching the “B” thing a little too far.)

Always a Nerd Ensemble (p. 39) by Kim Kesti

I loved this party ensemble the first moment I saw it – so creative and fun. And the gift favors are a hoot! Nice work, Kim! Psst…if you’d like to download the pattern for the party hat, click HERE.

Love Favor Box (p. 46) by Windy Robinson

Seriously! I wish you could all see this favor box in real life. It is GORGEOUS. I want to take it home with me. Windy’s beautiful classy & elegant style lends itself so very nicely to brides and weddings. Don’t you think?

Baby Gift Thank You Card (p. 55) by Lesley Langdon

We challenged our designers to make baby cards without using traditional baby colors. What we got were some amazing and trendy color combinations for baby. This is one of my favorites. The yellow and red plaid elephant is so cute. And I love the polka-dot print. Another job well done!

May Hope Sustain You Card (p. 68) by Rae Barthel

I admit I had my doubts about this section early on. My worries were quickly squelched after seeing the fantastic vintage-y balloon cards everyone made. This card in particular was one of my favs. If I wasn’t so afraid of heights, I might even want to ride this balloon. (*Might being the operative word here.)

I hope I’ve enticed you to see more. There are a lot more where these came from. I didn’t even get to show you the winners from the World Card Making Day section. You can find these designers on our new blog roll and read Jennifer’s big announcement HERE.

Basking in the beautiful book, blissfully unaware! (Now I’ve officially over-used the “B” in this blog!)
Kerri

P.S. I’m offering a giveaway that includes a copy of our March/April issue along with a few projects featured in this issue from designers: Jennifer McGuire, Jamie Harder, Cristina Kowalczyk, Maggie Haas, Kelley Eubanks, Alison Anderson and Regina Mangum. Leave a comment telling me what “B” section (Babies, Brides, Birthdays and Balloons) you’re most excited to see. All comments must be received by midnight (MST) on Wednesday, Feb. 16.

Hey, I’m a subscriber so I already have this fab issue, but I sure wouldnt mind winning some of the actual cards. I like the idea of these more unusual challenges to the design team as well as the cardmakers at large and the creative, original pieces they engendered – keep the dialog going both here and on facebook, and keep this good work up. it’s working well.

We have a balloon classic here and they are so colorful and fun. To be able to capture that on a card is great.

  34. Lynn (toomanycrayons) says:

I think my favorite “B” would be the Babies. I don’t need to make a baby card very often at all, so maybe that’s why I enjoy looking at others and thinking about the occasional one I might do.
