Welcome to Freebie Friday! Did you know that today is Worship of the Tools Day? I’m sure a macho carpenter or mechanic came up with this unusual holiday, but it totally works for paper crafters too! Wouldn’t you agree?
According to the Paper Crafts 2011 Reader Survey, our Tips, Tools & Techniques column is your favorite column in the whole magazine (and has been for many years now)! Furthermore, a whopping 87% of you own a personal die-cutting machine. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, 46% of you own both a electronic AND a manual die-cutting machine. Cool, huh?
You know who else loves her tools? Go-to Gal Teri Anderson. She even has her own Tooling Around with Teri blog series right here on Paper Crafts Connection. If you’ve missed any of her previous tool-focused posts, today is the perfect opportunity to read up on them. Stay tuned for our second post of the day…we’ll have all those links!
In the meantime, let’s give away a cool tool! Creative Editor Susan R. Opel is known to “puffy heart” many things. One is the color orange. Another is bling (you can imagine how she feels about orange bling!). What’s her trick for adhering all those tiny rhinestones to her cards? The i-rock by Imaginisce.
Check out her Sassy Birthday Wishes Card:

Just the perfect amount of bling to make a statement. Leave a comment telling me your “go-to” tool and I’ll pick three random winners to take home Imaginisce’s i-rock, their Flower Stencil Kit (100 gems, 8 flowers, 1 stencil) and their Glam Rocks (300 metal accents). All comments must be received by midnight (MDT) on Sunday, March 13. FYI: Daylight Savings Time begins this Sunday, so make sure to leave your comment before we “spring forward”!

Three lucky winners will each take home this tool and accessories!
Happy Friday!
Kelly
P.S. It’s time to announce the winner of Teri’s Addicted to Twine post!
Nicki Scheck (March 9, 1:01 p.m.)
Congrats, Nicki! You’ve won two spools of Divine Twine! I’ll be contacting you shortly to get your mailing address. Thanks to all who left comments!

Paper trimmer, punches, and crop o dile. These are a few of my favorite things!
Wow! My 9″ Xyron and my Cricut have to be my favorite “tools” if you can consider them that. I seriously can’t create anything without the Xyron even glue on the back of everything and it’s ease…whoa!
right now my go to tool is my cuttlebug. I am loving embossing folders right now and I use it all the time. This i rock tool is very cool… might have to become my new go to tool
My go to tool is my paper trimmer.
My favorite tool is quite large -my Big Shot !! I love all the things I can do with it to jazz up a card!!
Also -My score board -just got it recently and LOVE IT !!
Yikes! I have to narrow it down to one tool! Hmmm… I think my Zutter Distrez is All
My heat embossing gun is my go to tool. I love to heat emboss and to use the crackle technique. I also use it to help quick dry inks when I’m in a hurry!
Love that card and love the I-rock.
TFS

I have a large clear ruler and it’s in my hand constantly. But the other tool is my embossing heat tool…I just love embossing!
I wouldn’t be able to create much without my trusty guillotine-style paper cutter…but my recently acquired Cricut cutter is soon becoming my new go-to tool.
My go-to tools are the Cricut and my craft knife. That card is pretty.
My favorite, most used tools are my clear ruler, my tweezers and my wax paper! LOL!
MY go-to tool is my heat-gun! Can’t work without it!
love the bling! My trimmer is a must–can’t cut a straight line without it!
That card is super cute! I have been eyeing the irock tool lately but haven’t bought it yet. I LOVE to cut anything on my Cricut and blinging things out would be even more awesome!
Hi There!! My “can’t live without” tool would have to be my Xyron…if that’s considered a tool!! I couldn’t make a card without it!!!
Thanks for the chance to win another awesome tool!!!
My go-to tool lately has been my heat gun. I use that thing for so many things-embossing, heat and stick powder, drying die inks, and a few special “techniques” I have been trying.
my go tool has to be my cricut it is used around the house all the time
I use my corner shoper the most but I love punches too. Thanks
My go-to-tools are my paper trimmer and cuttlebug. These are just a few of my favorites, but after being told about the paper crimper by my friend Mary, I find it a favorite now also.
LOVING that card!!! TFS! Okay, if I have to pick just ONE of the tools in my stash it would be my new Tim Holtz scissors! Love those! I REALLY love ALL of my tools! I guess you could say I am a tool junkie!
Love my sidekick and spellbinder nestabilities.
I like all kinds of tools that help me do my crafting better and more efficiently. I don’t have an I rock yet. Would love to have one as I love any kind of “BLING” on cards and scrapbooking… Keep up the good work..
My favorite tool is definitely my Cricut because it offers so many possibilities for paper crafts and beyond. I just used it to cut out fabric initial letters of my child’s school to make an appliqued t-shirt. I also love cutting out a bunch of useful accent pieces ahead of time so I can start crafting as soon as the inspiration hits me.
BTW – LOVE the card – simply but sassy
My fave is the Cuttlebug. I can use it with so many different embossing folders. Love the card…Totally rocks:-)
I love my Cricut…. I really love using it, but I really love it because my 11 year old son (then 9) had my dad take him & he used his OWN money to get me the Cricut for Christmas!!!! What an amazing, givning boy…. I love him so much!!
Thanks so much for sharing & the chance to win!!!

My go to tool is my cricut.
My fav tool would have to be my Big Shot – die cuts, impression folders, so many possibilities! Thanks for the shot (pun intended) at some fabulous goodies!
My go to tool is my Sizzix Texture embosser. Love texture on paper.
Love that card. And I love a little bling. My go to tool is my Cricut.
Love my Cuttlebug….
lately my go to tool in my corner chomper but it changes – regularly
One tool that is indispensable to me is a pair of very sharp pointed bent tweezers. They allow me to pick up fine items, the point on the end helps hold down things while I add Stickles or glue and I can even poke holes for brads or eyelets in a pinch. The little chain on the end is handy for holding other small tools or hanging them up. The best investment ever!!!
Of course I LOVE all my other tools too!
My go-to tool is my paper trimmer. I have two of them.
I couldn’t do anything without my paper trimmer. But probably my favorite tool is the Cuttlebug. If something looks a little plain, a little embossing or a die-cut picks it right up!
My most used tool is my paper trimmer; I just couldn’t paper craft without it.
I love the Cuttlebug and embossing folders. Such a great variety of designs available and compatible with other brands of the folders too.

I’m still a heat-embossing girl, so one of my favourite tools is my heat gun! My wish-list tool is a die-cutting machine…
I am a cricut girl.It is amazing.
My go to is my mat pack for paper piercing. I use it for everything from setting eyelets and brads to poking decorative holes. I couldn’t live without it
Right now my go to tool is my Cricut and my score board.
I confess, my favorite go-to tools are my Fiscar rotary paper cutter, my Score-Pal scoring board and my Big Shot. I am one of 46% that own both an electronic and a manual die cutting maching. Notice the Big Shot is at the top of my tool list! My heat gun is second. I’m really into cutting and folding paper any way you can cut it and stamping come in a very close second.
I’d have to say my go-to tool is my Big Shot (with my Nestabilities) and MU Scor Pal.
My score pal is always close by my side, I use it a lot. I also love my cuttlebug.
I’m a pretty simple girl…my favorite tool is my paper cutter.
My go to tool is my paper cutter, my Grand Calibur is very very close to it
