A Day in the Life of a Paper Crafts Card

One of our readers recently asked us what happens to the cards after they’ve been sent to Paper Crafts magazine. Rather than give you the boring blow by blow, I’ve asked one of our cards to share her story with you personally.

Dear Mom/Creator:

Thank you for taking the time to painstakingly and lovingly create me so that I could get my picture in Paper Crafts magazine. I can’t believe I was chosen! Being here at Paper Crafts is a lot like being at camp. When I first got here, all the other card kids and I gathered at Ahtanya’s desk where she welcomed us and divided us into our perspective cabins. Here is a picture of me being assigned to my room:

Being away from home for two months is kind of scary, but I have been meeting all sorts of nice people. I have made a lot of new friends who tell me I’m really pretty. Susan is always telling me that she “puffy hearts” me.

I went on couple of field trips last month. First was to meet the editor. She wrote a bunch of nice things about me that will be in the magazine by my picture. Next stop was to see the copy editor who made sure everything was written correctly. Here’s my new friends and me traveling to our destinations:

When I got back, I was paired with another card friend who I was told would complement me in the magazine. I guess that means I’ll be looking my best. Oh, I almost forgot! I got hurt on one of my field trips and had to go to the nurse’s office for repairs. The nice lady had a repair kit and was able to reattach my belly with no problems at all.

Tomorrow I get to go have my picture taken from a professional. I’m really excited! Pretty soon I’ll be in the mail and on my way back home to you.

Miss You!
