Welcome to Freebie Friday! Yesterday we bid a fond farewell to our six Paper Crafts Go-to Gals, who were in town for our annual editorial board meeting.
In between all the hugging, laughing and consumption of candy, soda and (really good) food, we reviewed last year’s magazines, brainstormed ideas for our 2012 issues and went on some fun field trips. (There was also one very revealing game of “Two Truths & A Lie”, but that’s a blog post for another day.)
My favorite part of ed board is just sitting around and chatting with these inspiring ladies. You forget that in addition to “Paper Crafts Go-to Gal”, they also hold the titles of Daughter, Mother, Sister and Friend. Like most women, they wear a lot of different hats and each one is significant in its own right.

Paper Crafts Go-to Gals, May 2011
But since Mother’s Day is this weekend, let’s pay tribute to the all-important title that’s short on letters, but big on heart.
Here’s to you, Mom (courtesy of our May/June 2011 issue)!

As shaped cards go, Tifany DeGough's Mother Understands Card is "picture" perfect.

Julia Stainton's All Frames Card spotlights those three special letters.

The best advice my mom ever gave me: Marry him!
Great photo of the Go-To Gals! My mom told me to put the baby down when she’s still awak so she’ll learn to fall asleep by herself. Made things so much easier during that first year!
Lovely photo of you Go-To Gals! Hmmm…the best advice my mom gave me.. is to be honest with myself and follow my heart!
Happy Mother’s Day to you all at Paper Crafts!
This is really easy, the best advice/quote my Mom ever gave me. There’s actually too and they kind of go together.
If it didn’t happen it wasn’t meant to be.
This too shall pass.
I needed these words many times over the years and she’s been there to say them to me. Thanks Mom!
Best advice from my mother figure-one day at a time.I can survive anything for just one day.
My mom has given me a lot of good advice but the best one is “drive like everyone else out there does not know what they are doing” because many times, it is the truth!
I guess the best advice my Mama ever gave me was to learn to stand up for myself and ‘speak up’! It has served me well thus far!
Myparents had 8 children, I was the only one priveledged to be born with a form of neuro muscular disease. I remember my Mom always encouraging me to look for innovative ways around my disability. Paper crafting has been a hobby since childhood but as my dexterity weakens instead of quiting I have found creative ways around the issues. I hear my Mom words, “Don’t you quit…figure a way to acomplish it, you hear me?” Funny thing is I always have found a way and I do hear ya, Mom!
Also… “May your life be like a snowflake which leaves a mark but not a stain.”
Always wear clean underwear… Now who’s mom never gave them that advice?
haha
The best advice my mom ever gave me was to “do the thing you fear the most. That way it can never have power over you again.”
The best advice I got from a mother figure is old advice “Always treat others as you wish to be treated.” I have always tryed to follow this advice throughout my life.
God is always there when things go bad. That one of many thing my mom has said.
My mom, bless her heart, taught me to do my best and if I did my best, it didn’t matter if I won or lost because I did my best. Good Luck to all.
