Groovin’ with the Go-to Gals – I Dare You!

Color Headshot Jennifer McG Groovin’ with the Go to Gals – I Dare You!

Jennifer McGuire

Hello!

I am so excited to be posting for the first time on the Paper Crafts Connection blog. I love the inspiration shared here and I am honored to be a part of it.

Now, on to some crafting…

Did you know today is Dare Day?

I thought I would take the opportunity to dare all of you to try one of my favorite stamping techniques:

Stamping with markers

Stamping with markers is quite simple and can give great results.

To create these multi-colored flowers, I colored directly onto the rubber of the Hero Arts Wildflower stamp. You can use almost any brand of regular markers, but I love the quality of the Stamper’s Big Brush Pens from Design Memory Craft. Before stamping the flower, I gave it four fine mists of water from one foot above with my Mini Mister from Ranger. Misting the stamp allows the ink on the stamp to blend, giving a watercolored look that I love. You can completely change the look of the stamped image by changing the amount you mist the stamp.

Stamping with markers is like riding a bike: once you practice it a bit, you will always love it. If part of the image doesn’t stamp well, don’t worry! Just scribble the marker on a piece of plastic and pick up some color with a wet brush. You can paint the image in! Problem solved.

I then finished off the stamped piece by stamping over it with the Hero Arts Magical Background and a Studio AE by Technique Tuesday message

And how about a fun giveaway? Just leave a comment here for your chance to win four Hero Arts Cling Stamps, two Studio AE by Technique Tuesday clear sets and a set of twelve Big Brush Markers from Design Memory Craft for Faber-Castell. This is everything you need to have some fun stamping with markers. And, we can’t just pick one winner, so we will pick TWO! All comments must be received by midnight (MDT) on Thursday, June 2.

The flower stamps with markers are so beautiful for summer. We are sooooooo dry here in North Florida. I guess we’ll have to
stamp flowers instead of grow them! Those markers and Clings would make a beautiful garden in the midst of the drought!
