Groovin’ with the Go-to Gals – Feeling Fruity

Did you know that June is Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month? I’m sure you did.

I can leave the veggies, but fresh fruit? I’m all over that. This time of year, my body seems to crave it. It’s cold and refreshing and perfect for a hot day! I love to eat it, but I also love to craft with anything fruity!

Sweet images of strawberries, cherries, pears and more are showing up everywhere in the crafting world — from paper to stamps, embellishments and more. And I love every bit of them!

While we could go out and buy all sorts of product to satisfy our craving for something fruity, how about getting back to basics? Sometimes it’s fun to dig through our stash of paper crafting tools and see what we can create with them!

I dug out my circle punches…which are about as basic as a fresh fruit salad…and just played around, seeing what kinds of fruit I could create from a basic circle and a little creative trimming.

I think the results are quite fun!

I created a strawberry, orange, lemon and apple using just three circle punches: 1/2”, 3/4”, and 1”. If you’d like to see exactly how I made each fruit, stop over at my blog where I’ll show you step-by-step how to make your own.

And when they were all finished, I decided I needed a cute and appropriate way to present them as a gift. What better than a canning jar? Dressed up with a little baker’s twine and stamped tag, the note cards are tucked perfectly inside, making a fabulous hostess gift for your next summer barbecue!

So what’s your favorite fruit? Let me know by leaving a comment and I’ll pick one lucky winner to take home the above note cards and decorative jar. All comments must be received by midnight (MDT) on Thursday, June 16.

Feeling fruity,
