Welcome to Freebie Friday! Today we’re revealing the voting results from the first round of our Gallery Idol competition. It looks like the stars have aligned for this Top 15 announcement on the 15th day of July. So which 15 finalists will be moving on to Round 2?
I want to take a minute and thank our online community for embracing our Top 20 finalists. I know each and every one of them appreciates your enthusiastic cheerleading from the sidelines. From blog and Facebook comments to record voting numbers, thanks for the support!
I know there’s 20 anxious women waiting to hear the outcome of this week’s voting, so let’s get on with it! It was a competitive race, but these 15 gals received the most votes in our DIY embellishment-themed card challenge.

I really wish all of you could continue on, but then this competition would never end! Besides a nice prize package, you’re also taking away 19 new friends who all bear the name Top 20 finalist!

Top 15, the theme for Round 2 is…creative die cuts! (For inspiration, turn to the Creative Die Cuts feature in our July/August 2011 issue.) The deadline for submissions is Monday, June 18 at 9 a.m. (MDT). All cards must be posted to our gallery by this time. Voters, voting for Round 2 will begin at noon (MDT)!
Ready for today’s giveaway? To go along with Round 2′s die cut theme, I have Cricut’s Just Because Cards cartridge (which contains 40 cards with layers and 10 envelopes, 50 accompanying phrases with layers, 50 sticker shapes with blackouts and 50 stenciled phrases with blackouts). Leave a comment for our Top 15 finalists and I’ll pick three lucky winners to take home this fun cartridge. All comments must be received by midnight (MDT) on Sunday, July 17.

I would have to say that my two personal favorites that really made me stop and look are Debbie Carriere & Jennifer Rzasa. Debbie for her wonderful flowers & Jennifer for the unbelievable realness of her bike & shadow! I found these cards to be fabulously innovative and they really stood out from the rest! Congratulations on the win ladies…you really deserve it!
