This past spring my husband and I took a camping road trip through southern Utah and the surrounding area.
We love to wander and get lost in new places. There are so many fun places to see in this world and so little time.
Here we are in Mesa Verde, Colorado.
I’ll have you know that it snowed that next morning while we were camping…so much for beating the winter cold!

Now that I’m in the travel state of mind, I’ve been noticing a lot of fun, travel-inspired ideas – everything from maps and globes to luggage and compasses. I especially love the vintage look of this trend.
Compass, Globe, Luggage tags found on Etsy.com; Door map and Bedside table found on Pinterest; Tim Holtz Sizzix Vagabond:

The travel bug is starting to show up in Paper Crafts magazines as well. Stamp It! Cards features this card that makes me want to plan my next trip:

You Mean the World to Me Card by Brenda Weaver, p. 75
And based on what we’ve been seeing with manufacturer product previews, there are sure to be plenty of travel-inspired products at the upcoming CHA Summer show. We’ll have more on that in a few weeks!
My friend’s five-year-old recently told me, “Remember, it’s not the destination but the journey that counts!” Such a wise little one! I later found out that she got the saying from a cartoon. Nevertheless, it’s great advice. I hope you are all enjoying your summer and get a chance to explore the world around you.

My most favorite travel adventure was our honeymoon in Paris, Nice and Amsterdam~ it was tulip season and we went to the big festival in Holland, took the Eurorail to all our destinations AND we didn’t speak a bit of French when we left…but we did by the time we came back!!! =)
