Card-making is a universal hobby. The camaraderie it creates is a universal bond that brings us together in a spirit of love and giving. It’s fitting then, that the holiday season is one of the busiest times for card-makers.

For this week-long special, we’re bringing Christmas to you from card-makers all over the world! From New York to Australia, we’ll show you some brilliant cards from our Holiday Cards & More issue, as well as their equally brilliant designers!

Sarah J. Moerman

Why she loves card-making: “Card making has been such a wonderful hobby for me. It has done all the things that people usually say about it: provided me with a creative outlet, brought me together with new friends and so on. What I love most about it, though, is how is enables me to show love to those around me. I’m one who never knows what to write inside cards. I have a hard time expressing my thoughts and feelings and yet, I’ve been told by recipients of my cards that that doesn’t matter. They say knowing the thought, time and effort that have gone into making the cards conveys my love… and that is what I love most about card-making.”

Christmas in Canada: We’re not sure if Canada counts specifically as the North Pole, but Santa certainly has some helpers there! Volunteer employees at Canada Post, Canada’s mail service, respond to e-mails for Santa all throughout the year!

Why she loves card-making: “For me, card making has allowed me to make the most amazing and wonderful friendships and sisterhoods. I could not express the love I have for the ladies I have met because of it. To connect with a common cause and be able to give someone support by donating cards or getting together and doing a card drive is a wonderful experience. I have been on the receiving end of such and have really been touched that someone would take the time to make a handmade card in order to send a hug via a beautiful handmade card. When I have an opportunity to do the same, it is a wonderful feeling and hope the person on the other ends feels the hug I have included.”

Christmas in New York: A fun tradition in New York during the holiday season is lighting the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. Located in Midtown Manhattan, Rockefeller Center is a hot-spot for many New York visitors during the holidays!
