Hello friends,

Today I’d like to share a little fall card making inspiration with you.

You see fall is by far my most favorite time of the year.

As I sit here typing this, I have my windows wide open so I can feel the cool air blow through my house and hear the sound of dried leaves rustling and tumbling along the street.

I’m always the first one to the pumpkin patch… nothing beats a field full of pumpkins.

Here’s the beauty that I picked for my front porch because of its cool, twisted stem and wrinkly skin.

I love that a pumpkin’ s beauty is truly in the eye of its beholder. My daughter is in love with gourds this year… the twisted and bumpier the better.

My neighbors think I’m little bit nutty. But as soon as I put out the pumpkins and mums, other autumnal decorations begin to appear along our street. There is just something contagious about fall décor and colors.

I recently had the opportunity to create a few cards with Jillibean Soup’s fall Apple Cheddar Soup collection as a part of their new monthly card kit club: The Card Kitchen.   After visiting the pumpkin farm one afternoon, I came home and was inspired to make eight cards in practically no time at all.  With the inspiration of a great fall day fresh in my mind and with the help of a well-coordinated kit, whipping up a few cards to send to all of my neighbors was a cinch.

October’s kit is chock full of fall paper crafting goodies from perfectly coordinated patterned papers to seasonal embellishments. I truly enjoyed playing with every bit of it. Here are a few cards that I created…

… so as you can tell, I’m still stuck on the ruffle trend. You can get a quick tutorial HERE.

And I couldn’t resist making a card for my daughter’s teacher. She has been working so hard with all of our new first graders that I think it is time to send a surprise thank you note.

This one is going to my BFF who lives down the street. (And who doesn’t read this blog!)

You can see more of my cards on The Card Kitchen Blog throughout the month of October. I hope they inspire you to sit down, enjoy the season and make some autumnal cards to send to your friends and neighbors.
