Halloween is one of my very favorite times of the year. When else is it socially acceptable to eat hordes of candy, wear a long velvet cape and pointy hat, decorate your home with black candles and glittery skulls, and actually think it’s a great idea to have cobwebs strewn from your light fixtures. Not to mention finally getting a chance to use the fun paper crafting supplies dedicated to all things Halloween.
It was Cath’s recent Moxie Fab World post on pumpkins from Pinterest that got me salivating to add more to my Halloween decoration collection. Not to mention Betsy’s post from yesterday! Somehow, I convinced the rest of the team to dedicate our paper craft recess this month to pumpkin decorating.
Here are some ideas we came up with:
- Apply bone stickers and bling to make your own spider web.
- Spray paint pumpkin white, stamp on tissue paper and mod podge.
- Mod podge decorative tissue paper.
- Embellish with a favorite quote from The Raven, add feather, ribbon and jewel with raven rub on.
- Apply bling and decorate with ribbon and a raven.
- Spray paint and antique with brown ink.

After one short afternoon I still wasn’t satisfied, so I went home and did more. This time I spray painted the pumpkin and simply covered it in some Halloween lace. I literally stapled the lace to the bottom of the pumpkin. It almost felt like I cheated because it was so easy!

I’m now officially in the spirit of Halloween. I hope that you are as inspired as I have been and have a wonderfully spooky, haunted Halloween!

Oh how I just love all the beautiful creations with your pumpkins! I am in the right mood now after seeing these and hope I can find the time to create as well…Thank you for sharing and I am going to be sharing on my facebook page as well since they are absolutely the most beautiful pumpkins I have ever seen! Who would have ever thought to paint and create them like that!! Job well done…………..
La Te Da I feel so old school with my pumpkin carving. My daughter is having a pumpkin carving party this Friday and they won’t look like your elegant pumpkins but I can not wait to roast the seeds and take some fun pictures of the girls and their creations.
Love what you have done so cool.
These are so cool!
Congrats winners! LOVE that last pumpkin! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
The pumpkins are pretty, but it seems wrong to be spray painting food when so many are hungry right now – at least when you carve them, you get to eat the pumpkin seeds. Yum!
Great pumpkins! I like them all!
Congrats to Amy & Roxie ~ lucky gals! Great colored pumpkins all decked out.
