Is any else in disbelief that tomorrow is Thanksgiving? A day that most of us in the United States will spend with family and friends, feasting and giving thanks for all that we hold dear in our lives.
Shortly after many of us will wake in the wee hours of the morning to make a mad dash to our favorite retail destination for a little Black Friday shopping. It’s a tradition that occurs year after year for many, myself included.
But this year I’m going to buck the system. No more standing outside in the cold and rain (because it always seems to rain when I go out on Black Friday). And no more waiting in lines that wrap around a store… if you’ve done it, you know what I’m talking about.
This Black Friday I’m going to stay home and be crafty. I might make an extra early run to Starbucks at 5:30 am, but I will be certain to return home to the comfort of my desk chair to finish up my holiday cards. Here’s one that I’ve started working on…

I think of it as my gift card because it is a tri-fold card that will either hold a gift card or gift inside.

Open the first flap and there is a spot for a sentiment and a personal note.

Then open the other flap and there’s a pocket for a special gift or gift card. Here I’ve made a few coordinating gift tags to send along with the card.

Now I just need to make about 10 more of these to cover all of my neighbors and kids’ teachers. What are your plans for the weekend… want to join me? Leave a comment by 5 PM MST on Thursday for your chance to win Anna Griffin’s Twinkle Bright Christmas collection that I used on my projects. You can make a few along with me!

Here’s to a great holiday with many blessings!
Windy Robinson

Gorgeous cards.
Awesome cards and I love this collection!
What a great card idea. I just love the papers. We’re having dinner at my MILs and then decorating for Christmas. TFS.
I love your Christmas cards! You are so creative.
As for my plans for this holiday, our family of four will be eating turkey with the trimmings tomorrow, but then it will be a shopping blitz at midnight and then again around 6am. We love the hoopla of the bargain shopping. LOL I also plan to work on my Christmas cards, too. Thanks for a chance to win an awesome prize.
I’ve been invited to have dinner with a dear friend (although it isn’t Thanksgiving in Canada!) Wishing our American neighbours a happy Thanksgiving!
I just love your card and I love this collection. Thank you so much for sharing and giving all of us a chance to win. Happy Thanksgiving to you.
This is a great gift and I so appreciate that you are sharing the “how to” make it. I am excited to spend Thanksgiving day with family including my niece who is expecting my first great nephew or niece!
That is one gorgeous gift card!!
Sorry for the drool-this collection is so GORGEOUS!
I will be doing Black Friday overnight, we should be done by breakfast!
Then, I have some serious plans to nap and be lazy!
That is a totally gorgeous card! It’s a gift all in itself.
I am planning to NOT shop on Friday. My kids are going to have friends over and then we’ll either have family time or go to our local lighted parade celebration.
We drove 5 hours to spend Thanksgiving with my BIL and his family only to learn his wife was hospitalized. She just finished radiation on her brain & lung a week ago and is supposed to start chemo on her lung tumor next month. Now she’s got some kind of infection so is faced with a bump in the road. Praying tomorrow is a better day, and we can enjoy Thanksgiving (have so much else to be thankful for). Your card is beautiful by the way and AG’s Twinkle Bright Christmas collection looks fabulous! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Love, love, love that holly & berry paper! Lovely card! TFS!
No shopping for me if I can help it!!! I worked retail for about 20 years and the last thing I want to do is fight all the cars in the parking lot!! I’ll wait till next week when things calm down again
And for what I’m doing, it all depends on if it rains or not, but I guess I’d better start my christmas cards, and I’ll sew a little when I can:-)

I have to work unfortunately, no turkey dinner this year, but leftovers tomorrow will be just fine!
Cute, cute, cute….and I love that collection!
What a beautiful collection! I don’t plan to get out in all the craziness! Too difficult with little ones and Black Friday seems to bring out the worse in people. I think I will stay in the comfort of my own home this weekend and start address Christmas cards!
I’m hoping to do some shopping tomorrow and then scrap this weekend!
Love this gift card – so pretty. Needed some new ideas for gift card holders so thanks so much for sharing. And this is a very nice collection….
