Are any of you in disbelief that the holidays are just around the corner? I know I am! But I have to admit, I am very happy about this. I love the hustle and bustle of the season and that all of my family and friends can be together.
But I know for some this isn’t the case. For the elderly in nursing homes, time with family can be very limited. Wouldn’t it be fabulous if we could bring a smile to their face and brighten their holiday season simply by sharing our love of card making? A simple gesture to let them know that someone is sending them cheer.
This is where the Cards that Care card drive comes in. I have teamed up with Vera Yates to collect cards for the elderly in nursing home for the holidays. And we would be so thrilled if you would all consider sending in some cards! You can find all the details HERE – it is really quite simple! Here is an example of a cheery card I made for the card drive…

I colored the Hero Arts Car with Tree image with Copic Markers and cut it out. Then, I adhered it to a card base stamped with snowflakes and the “Joyful Greetings” sentiment from the Hero Arts Snowman Christmas clear set. And to finish the card off with a little shine, I added gemstones to the sky and Glossy Accents to the car. So easy and fun to create!

By the way, if you send in cards for the Cards that Care card drive, you may win one of many fabulous card making prizes. Be sure to check it out!
And speaking of prizes, why don’t we have one today? Just leave a comment here by 5 PM MST on Thursday for your chance to with the stamps I used on this card today – the Hero Arts Car with Tree and Snowman Christmas clear set! Good luck!
I hope your holiday season is wonderful!

Super cute card!
I regularly do cards for nursing homes near me, but will contribute to your cause as well. The residents are delighted with the cards.
