Hello, y’all! So, probably like you, my favorite paper crafting thing to do is to make cards, and I have made many in the past few weeks, trust me! Some of them turned out pretty cute too, if I do say so myself! Today, however, I want to share something other than cards. There are so many wonderful things you can do with a bit of patterned paper, so I thought I would show you something I have done.
As a veteran of college life, I’m used to moving around and living in small apartments, but a home is a home, and the appearance of your environment can actually make a pretty big difference on your mood. It is amazing what a little decoration can do to lift your spirits, so what little you can do is worth it. That is why I had to find a way to, with little cash and a temporary mindset, beautify my apartment—I went the route of patterned paper. Here is a picture of my living room décor.
Want to try it? Please do! It’s very simple.
For the big circles, take a square piece of patterned paper and fold it back and forth, in an accordion fold.
Fold in half and tape together. You will need three sheets to make a full circle.
For the smaller ones, you need only one square sheet of paper. Cut it in half, fold back and forth, and tape together to form a circle.
Make many and in different sizes and then arrange however you please. Using different but cohesive patterns makes it interesting and modern.
I attached mine to the wall with a generous amount of sticky tack. It’s super easy and so cute! And the best part? It only costs as much as one paper stack and a bit of sticky tack. I can’t even tell you how many compliments I have gotten on these this past year.
Well, that is all for now. I hope you’ve liked my posts. Sadly, this will be the last one from me, as my internship with Paper Crafts magazine is coming to a close next week. Thank you for all of your inspiration and kind words, and happy holidays!
