Hey there! Well, you’ve probably figured out that the holiday season has arrived. Never mind the decorations that have been in stores for months already. I put my foot down that no music or decorating shall be undertaken until AFTER Thanksgiving. After that…no holds barred. Hee, hee.
The first thing I do every year to prepare for Christmas is update my table centerpiece. I have a plain white wooden tray what holds various candle holders, vases, candy jars, etc. which I switch out for every season. This year, I found two new clear candle holders that became the centerpiece of this year’s vignette.
I must have been inspired by last week’s debut of Card Creations: Get Inspired because I started my project by unpacking some of my favorite ornaments.

I loved the bright colors and patterns, so I gathered up some cardstock and other fun goodies in the same jewel tones.

Next, I gathered up my new candleholders and a few other clear vases and such. I love clear glass because you can change it so easily with paper and embellishments.

I filled my tall cylinder with small ornaments then covered a good chunk of it with cardstock. (I love that cute pleated trim from Webster’s Pages).

I added some punched circles, a little row of bling around the bottom and totally transformed my plain vase into a real “wow factor” piece.

The two clear candle holders were treated with simple strips of white cardstock; one embellished with more punched circles and the other with bling.

Ta da! This just puts a smile on my face. I can hardly wait for the kids to get home from school and see this festive fun! I hope you enjoyed seeing how quick and easy creating something new can be.
Have a really great holiday season, you all!

Oh my gosh, Kim! This is so stinkin’ adorable and super creative! We don’t put up a tree because we’re not here for Christmas, but something like this would really make our place festive. I think I’ll be headed to Home Goods and Pier One today to recreate this!! Ah-MAZING!!
What a great idea and how simple. Thanks for sharing.
So very cute! My table centerpiece needs a Christmas re-vamping. I am inspired!
Up here everything goes all grey, and white – monochromatic and elegant in its own way … but your Christmas looks like a summer holiday and a festive season wrapped up in one super fun package! Thanks for sharing!
