With this resolution in mind, I pulled out several sets of fun sentiment stamps. I don’t know about you, but I often struggle with how and where to place sentiments on my cards. (I admit, sentiments are usually the last thing I think of –shhh).
After playing around a little bit, I came up with three tips for you.

This first one is kind of a Kesti classic. I call it the “when in doubt, cut a word bubble” technique. I just think word bubbles are so engaging and fun. Single word messages usually work out best, but you can try longer sentiments, too.

This next one is really simple, too. Stamp your sentiment on plain white cardstock, then cut a trendy little banner. They are cute attached to your card with brads, buttons, staples, ribbon; just about anything. Try stamping in colored ink to match your card, too.

Tip #3 is a tiny bit trickier, but not hard. Use a masking technique to stamp your sentiment in two different colors. I stamped the word “happy” in pink first, and then used a sticky note to cover it when I came back with the green ink for “birthday”. Using two colors sure adds a lot of pizzazz to a simple card.
So, what do you think? Ready to join me in more stamping during 2012? Perhaps you need a little more incentive. How about leaving me a comment about your crafting resolution and I will enter you to win this delicious bundle of stamping goodness! Comments must be received by Thursday at 5 PM MST!

And, if one of your resolutions is to be published in 2012, don’t forget to check out our new call for Stamp It! Cards 9! Best of luck to all my stamping friends out there!

Well I’ve decided that cleaning up is NOT my crafting resolution, how’s that ?
My crafting resolution are to try different techniques, complete my 2011 scrapbooking, and send more cards.
great tips! and will definitely try them out.
My resolution is to use all my crafting tools and materials and craft more often as time can handle.
Well, I want to make more cards this year. I’ve been working a lot on scrapbooking and would like to start working on more cards. This is a great place for inspiration.
I would like to learn how many ways you can use alcohol ink and those crayons from faber castell. Got them for christmas and don’t know what to do with them. Plz help.
YAY! One of my resolutions is too catch up on my scrapping! I’m about 1 1/2 behind but closing in on a year!! And to do more cards this year! I’m beginning to really like that as well!
Actually, one of my resolutions is to get published, I am going to check out the call. My other resolution is to do more scrapbook pages and include more stamping. These stamps would be perfect. Thanks for the chance to win
Great tips, thanks for the inspiration! My resolution is to try making more Clean and Simple cards, and submit to more challenges, to keep the creative juices flowing!
My resolution would be to buy less and use more of what I have. I think we all feel that way at times. Great cards and a wonderful prize.
My crafting resolution is to keep pushing myself to try new things and expand my style … and maybe even submit to a few pub calls too.
Those stamps are fabulous! I use them on pretty much evey card I make.
Great tips for sentiments. My crafting resolution is to use my older stamps and other supplies and to organize.
My resolution is to make my cards before I need them! Especially my Christmas cards! Wish me luck. Thanks for the tips.
My resolution is to use up some of the gazillions of paper and stamping supplies that I have been hoarding! I also have a tough time with sentiments, or titles on LO’s. Thanks for the inspiration and the chance to win!
I too have sentiment issues! My resolution is to do better with the inside of the card.
My resolution is to keep my craft room organized – I’m so much more likely to use everything if I can find it all!
I’d like to get a card published this year!
I’m hoping to get Christmas and other gifts made earlier this year.. it’s nice when they are all done well ahead of time!
Wow, love that word bubble technique and will have to remember to use it~
As for my 2012 stamping resolutions….it would be to use my stamps more often. I sometimes forget to pull out my stamps when I’m scrapbooking , or I keep using the same stamp sets and forget about the others. So…..more techniques, more ways to use my stamps, and using what I already have! Of course, that doesn’t mean that I don’t totally crave your giveaway!!!
I cleaned up my craft area, and one of my resolutions is to clean up after I work in there. I kept forgetting some of the wonderful items I have, or couldn’t find them so this is a good resolution for me! Another is to submit submit submit for Call for Publication in the hopes “;o) of being published this year!
great cards and tips, thank you. One of my resolutions is to learn more to try new techniques on my projects…
Three great cards! Love the sentiment in two colors, I have never done that! Resolutions… just to let my creativity flow, instead of just reading about techniques – actually try the techniques as well, and participate in more challenges online – these always give me some sort of satisfaction. Thanks for sharing.

Love your resolution and thanks for the inspiration! I’ve resolved to be more creative this year—to do something every day.
I am going to try to use my products I have in my stash before I buy anymore new products. I say this every year. I especially have a fetish for stamps.
Wow, I think one of my crafting resolutions is to try to get a card or two published and not be afraid to try!
I have resolved to not make resolutions cause I never keep them anyway. I love these cards. TFS the inspiration and the chance to win some cool stamps.
My crafting resolution is to go through my stash and weed out. I have WAY TOO much stuff! I also want to organize and catalog everything that I keep so that I know what I have and exactly where it is.
I have been stamping/card making for over 10 years now so I have a LOT of stuff to go through. LOL Thanks for a chance to win an awesome prize.
i need to go through each and every box of stamps and figure out either how to use them or pass them on. i have been doing this slowly.
Cute cards. I need stamps for sentiments.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that struggles with sentiment placement! I usually leave it off the front altogether and put it inside the card.
I’m still working on last year’s resolution to weed out things I’m not using and sell them online. It’s a slow process, but it’s getting there! Thanks for the chance to win!
I would love to do more stamping with you in 2012!! I really need to learn how to incorporate stamping more in layouts too… My new years resolution list is getting longer and longer!!
My crafty resolution is to make a scrapbook page at least twice a month. I always make cards and I’ve become so behind in my scrapbooking! I’m starting off well so far with two down this month already!
My main resolution for 2012 is to be more creative. So far I’ve been very good. I’ve been making cards daily and even made a layout. I’m hoping to dwindle my stash this year so I can buy all the new and fun stuff from CHA. lol
New Years Resolution 143A – To use more of my stash and buy less…. I think I’ve already broken it though… maybe just use more of my stash and use what I buy as well… that may work a little better… we’ll see!
Love your 3 sentiment rules–I’m going to “rule” with these too! My resolution–to finish my scrap calendar for this year by Valentine’s day–and to start next year’s calendar and Christmas cards this summer!!! (My business is very busy Oct-April, slows down over summer).
I just made my crafting resolution yesterday: to make at least one card per week!! that’s 52 in a year, and way more than I did last year!! (And I like to sew also, so sometimes it takes over the stamping and then I run out of cards to send: tsk, tsk!!)
My crafting resolution is to get published!! =)
I haven’t ever tried, but this year I am going to make it a goal!!
THANKS for sharing and for the chance to win!! Have a FABULOUS WEEK!!
Hi. My crafting resolution is to get better and trying new techniques. I made my cards only for six months. So I must buy some new crafting stash. I think never to have enough. Lily Anuska
My crafting resolution is to try new techniques. Thanks a lot for this amazing giveaway!
I resolve to actually use some of my “best” supplies rather than hoard them for “someday.” Cute cards. Thanks for the chance to win.
My #1 crafting resolution is to make a dent in my patterned paper stash. I’m off to a good start and am loving paper piecing everything right now!
I want to catch up on my scrapbooking and try to get ahead in making cards so I’m not so last minute all the time.
I am resolving to craft a little every day. I’m also doing PL this year again so taking my daily photo is a commitments as well.
I plan on trying different techniques and applying them to my cards. Thanks for the chance to win.
My resolution is to find more time to indulge in my favorite activity…making cards. Thanks for the chance to win!
Hi…I don’t usually make resolutions, however…I did PROMISE to try and do new things this year!!! I’m happy to say that I’ve already started…..(YAY me)! TFS
this is the first year i didn’t make a resolution… but i definitely have some goals!!! and i need this prize package- stamps are slim-pickin’s at my house.
One of my crafting resolutions is to use the monthly kits that I’ve been hoarding for three years. Amazingly, the products in the kits are not outdated and need to be used NOW!
Like Kim, I would like to use my stamps more this year. I have about 80 stamp sets, many of which have never been used!
My resolution is to use my stamps more, too, so this would be perfect!
