Hello 2012! Welcoming a new year reminds me of all of the resolutions that I’ve made in the past that have come and gone.
Every year I make the resolution to be better at sending out cards to all of my friends and family on their birthdays, anniversaries and on those little not so well known holidays like Girlfriends Day. But year after year, I get busy and don’t always send as many cards as I should.
So I’ve decided that this is the year to become a better card sender! And to do that, I’m starting with a better system…

… a desktop date calendar. I figure if I have a calendar that sits open on my desk, there are no excuses not to send out a card for everyone’s birthday. Right?
To create it I started with a clear acrylic calendar stand by Maya Road and covered the chipboard dividers with patterned paper from the Love Story collection by Fancy Pants Designs.
Next I made simple calendar pages and added our family’s important dates, birthdays and anniversaries.

Then I pulled out my calendar from 365 Cards and added additional card sending dates…

Lastly I added a digital stamp by Rhonna Farrer to the background of each page, printed my calendar pages and added them to the calendar stand.
Here’s to keeping my resolution to send more cards in 2012! What are your resolutions for the New Year?
Happy New Year!

Resolution #1 : spending more time with my family. I need to send out more cards too, but I don’t actually see them as much as I’d like….perhaps I’ll hand deliver some of those cards. There’s a thought
Thanks for sharing the super cute calendar project…LOVE IT!!
mine was to be more organized! this will help – I think my sister needs one too
thanks!
Great project. This would be a wonderful gift too.
Your calendar is so pretty! I love the distressed and inked pages you have created.
I bet you won’t have any trouble remembering important dates this year since it will be so nice to check on the day with this beauty!
I try to remember everyone’s birthday but sometimes they are a little late. I just got the mini album off to our niece that I had made last January for her birthday in February! (Insert a very embarrassed red face here! It’s probably some sort of record…)
I can relate to wanting to be a better card sender! I have a husband, 5 daughters, 8 nieces and nephews, 4 brother & sister-in-laws, mother and father-in-law, mother, father, step-mother, and assorted cousins, 2nd cousins, aunts, uncles, and even a great-niece! Only about 11 of those receive cards in addition to a handful of friends – if I remember! My word this year is “Healthier” including physically, spiritually, and mentally. On my mentally healthier list is more time pursuing creative activities – including painting, scrapbooking and cardmaking. I’d like to have a large stash of cards to go to when a special day creeps up on me.
Mine is to become more organized in my craft room. I like your system. I need to take my calendar out of my nightstand (why have I had it in there for so many years when my card stuff is all in my craft room??? Silly me, it took your blog to make me think to put it in the logical spot…go figure.
Such a good idea Windy and definitely an area I need to work on as well!
Glad to hear that I am not the only card maker that is not that great about getting cards sent out! Seems kind of strange, doesn’t it?:0)
I’m seeking information on how you can raise the amount of responses without any help weblog, exactly how do you reach your goals in achieving this?
